Producer Ronnie Screwvala Hints At The Re-Release of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Swades'

Mumbai, July 9 - Over the last few months, many old classic Bollywood films have been re-released in theatres, giving a chance to movie lovers to revisit them on the big screen, and a few of the films even went on to do well at the box office. ## With cinephiles getting a chance to re-watch iconic films, there has been a frequent request from fans for Shah Rukh Khan's Swades to be re-released in theatres, and this might turn into a reality as per the latest development. ## In a recent interview with IndianToday.in, producer Ronnie Screwvala hinted that the 2004 film may get another chance on the big screen as he feels that the movie was ahead of its time and that it needs its second time around. ## Screwvala further added that Swades is an evergreen story and inspired a lot of people, and he also mentioned how the film represents the spirit and mood of the nation in today's time. "Shah Rukh Khan is a NASA scientist, and he comes back to rural India and wants to light the bulb, quite literally. Today, younger generations connect to that. You may go abroad to study, but eventually, you want to come back to your country", the filmmaker said.## Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades is considered as a jewel in Shah Rukh Khan's filmography. Mumbai, September 22 - Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar has announced a film based on the life of Indian Vedic scholar and teacher (acharya), Adi Shankaracharya in collaboration with Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas. ## The movie, titled "Shankar" was announced at the unveiling of the monumental 'Statue of Oneness' in Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. 'Kantara' Star Rishab Shetty To Team Up With 'Lagaan' Director Ashutosh Gowariker For A Pan India Movie

Mumbai, September 1 - Kannada star Rishab Shetty delivered an unexpected all-time box office blockbuster last year in the form of "Kantara". In Hindi, the movie turned out to be a sleeper hit with gross collection of around 100 crores and now, the actor is working on the "Kantara 2" which will go on floors later this year.## "Kantara" helped Shetty to rose to fame in Hindi market which could take his popularity to next level with "Kantara 2". It is not the only movie for the actor to arrive in Hindi as according to Pinkvilla, the talented actor will be collaborating with "Lagaan" director Ashutosh Gowariker for a Pan India movie.## It is said that Shetty and Gowarikar have been discussing a story for a while now and things have finally fallen into place. "Ashutosh has been working on a subject that warrants a rooted treatment and he felt that Rishab is the best fit for his subject. Director Amit Rai Reveals How Akshay Kumar's Courage Saved 'OMG 2'

Mumbai, August 17 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal-starrer 2012's film "Oh My God - OMG" was finally released on August 11, 2023, and against all odds, it is set to emerge a big success. Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" features Akshay as Lord Shiva in an extended appearance while this time, Pankaj Tripathi takes the central role with Yami Gautam.## "OMG 2" has had its own struggle story before hitting cinemas. The makers had to fight an internal battle with the censor board as board members were initially not willing to grant a censor certificate to the movie. However, after continued efforts, the movie got censored but not the way the makers would have liked. It was granted an "A" rating (18+ only) while the team wanted "U/A" which was denied.## During a recent interview with ETimes, Amit Rai said that he is still trying to convince the censor board members to change their decision and give the movie "U/A" certificate. He also revealed that he took some intelligent steps to save the film from so many cuts for which, the VFX team worked continuously to make certain changes. ## Censorship issues aside, Amit Rai revealed that "OMG 2" would have never been made had Akshay Kumar not backed it. The movie deals with sex education in India and it has been given a religious angle to convey the message. Rai said that due to its subject, filmmakers like Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Sony Pictures, and others had rejected the script and it was on the verge of getting shelved.## After many filmmakers rejected it, Akshay Kumar came forward and showed the courage to back it. "He was very open to the script and said that the film needs to be made. Because of him, we're still standing strong otherwise 'OMG 2' wouldn't have got made. I met Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl and through them, I reached Akshay Kumar. If I hadn't managed to reach him, the script would have remained in some corner", the filmmaker said.## Produced by Akshay's Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, and Wakaoo Films, "OMG 2" is going strong at the box office and scored approx. 108 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days. Rakul Preet Singh To Star Alongside Farhan Akhtar In Ashutosh Gowariker's Action Flick!

Mumbai, October 19 - Earlier this year, it was reported that filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar would be making an action film with actor Farhan Akhtar in the lead role. While there is no official confirmation on the same yet, it is now reported that the movie is slated to go on floors in December this year and Akhtar's production house Excel Entertainment is backing it. ## According to Peepingmoon, the makers have roped in the busy bee Rakul Preet Singh to play the female lead along with South Indian actor Jagapathi Babu, who will mark his Bollywood debut with this as the antagonist. The star filmmaker announced his next directorial, titled - Jee Le Zaraa, boost with a solid cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, coming together for the first time. ## Having already explored the road trip films with Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Farhan Akshatar's Jee Le Zaraa falls in the same genre with the girls this time. The actor is now gearing up for his next, which is said to be a contemporary action flick with director Ashutosh Gowariker. ## Gowariker, who is known for making intense period dramas, is looking to embrace other genres. Recently, it was revealed that he was working on his next Hindi film for Akhtar's Excel Entertainment banner. 1 Year of Panipat: Kriti Sanon Reminisces About Her Role and Action Sequence in The Movie

Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker's film Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Sanjay Dutt was released one year ago on this day (December 6). The movie depicts the events that took place during the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761 between the Maratha Empire and the invading Afghan army of Ahmad Shah Abdali played by Sanjay Dutt.## Kriti Sanon, who played the role of Parvati Bai, wife of Sadashiv Rao Bhau played by Arjun Kapoor in the movie, gets nostalgic remembering her role and the action sequence filmed on her in the movie.
