Drishyam 3 Week 2 Box Office: Need 4 Crore To Surpass Vaazha 2 And Become 4th Highest Grossing Malayalam Movie Of All Time

BY SACNILK

Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3 has navigated through its first 16 days at the box office, and while the numbers remain impressive, we are seeing a clear shift in momentum. After a massive opening and a solid first week, the initial hype has started to settle down. This is partly because the word of mouth hasn’t been as explosive as the previous installments, leading to a quicker exhaustion of the urban audience than initially expected. However, reaching the hundred-crore mark in India net collections is a milestone that very few Malayalam films achieve, and Drishyam 3 has comfortably secured that spot. Let's break down how the film performed during its second week. Between Day 9 and Day 15, the movie managed to add a gross of ₹23.99 Cr to its tally. During this period, the film saw a steady stream of viewers, but the drops on weekdays were more noticeable. Across its entire run so far, the film has played in over 54,455 shows. The ticket sales on BookMyShow tell a story of two halves: while the first extended week saw a massive 2.52 million tickets sold, the second week saw that number drop to 576,000. For national chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, the second week saw over 69,600 tickets being sold. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The state-wise gross for the second week shows that Kerala remains the primary engine for this film, though other regions contributed fairly well before the slowdown began. Here is how the gross was distributed across India for Week 2: Kerala: ₹19.20 Cr Karnataka: ₹1.76 Cr Tamil Nadu: ₹1.19 Cr APTG (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana): ₹1.07 Cr Rest of India: ₹0.77 Cr Here is the performance breakdown for the second week leading into the third Friday: Drishyam 3 - India Net Collection BreakdownDAYINDIA NET COLLECTIONSHOWSDay 9 (2nd Friday)₹ 4.30 Cr2,524Day 10 (2nd Saturday)₹ 5.10 Cr2,570Day 11 (2nd Sunday)₹ 5.35 Cr2,454Day 12 (2nd Monday)₹ 2.20 Cr2,276Day 13 (2nd Tuesday)₹ 1.55 Cr2,142Day 14 (2nd Wednesday)₹ 1.25 Cr1,871Day 15 (3rd Thursday)₹ 0.93 Cr1,394Week 2 Total₹ 20.68 Cr15,231Day 16 (3rd Friday)₹ 0.80 Cr851Total India Net₹ 103.43 Cr54,455 (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Talking about the third Friday, Day 16, the film collected ₹0.80 Cr net in India. This represents a 14 percent drop from the previous day's collection of ₹0.93 Cr. In the national chains—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—the film sold approximately 1,300 tickets on its sixteenth day, generating a gross of about ₹3.08 Lakhs with an occupancy of nearly 9 percent across 86 shows. On BookMyShow, the film recorded 30,570 ticket bookings for the day, bringing the total platform sales to over 3.76 million since release. The overseas market continues to be a massive pillar for Drishyam 3, providing a significant boost to its global standing. During the second week, the international performance remained quite healthy, especially over the weekend. The film collected 2.50 crore on Day 9, 2.75 crore on Day 10, and 2.25 crore on Day 11. As it moved into the weekdays, we saw the usual drop in collections, with 0.75 crore on Day 12, 0.60 crore on Day 13, 0.40 crore on Day 14, and 0.15 crore on Day 15. This brings the total overseas collection for the second week alone to a solid 9.40 crore. On its third Friday, Day 16, it added another 0.10 crore from international markets, taking the total overseas gross to 111.25 crore so far. When you combine this with the India gross of 120.01 crore, the worldwide total now stands at 231.26 crore, while the India net collection has reached 103.43 crore. Where does this put Drishyam 3 in the all-time rankings? Currently, it is chasing the record of Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros, which finished its run at ₹235.26 Cr worldwide. Drishyam 3 needs exactly 4.00 Cr more to overtake it and claim the fourth spot in the list of highest-grossing Malayalam movies. While it has already surpassed many big titles, it still has a climb ahead to reach the likes of Manjummel Boys at ₹241.03 Cr, L2: Empuraan at ₹266.81 Cr, and the chart-topper Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra at over ₹303 Cr. With the current trend, reaching the top three seems like a tough challenge, but crossing Vaazha 2 is definitely within reach over the next few days.

Drishyam 3 Box Office: Mohanlal Starrer Struggling To Reach 250 Crore Worldwide

BY SACNILK

Kochi, June 4 - Superstar Mohanlal's much-awaited crime thriller Drishyam 3 continues to perform well at the box office, but its pace has slowed considerably during the second week of its theatrical run. Despite emerging as one of the biggest Malayalam hits of 2026, the film is now facing a challenge in reaching the significant 250 crore worldwide gross milestone. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the third instalment of the iconic Drishyam franchise opened to a sensational response worldwide. The film crossed the 100 crore mark globally within just three days and entered the prestigious 200 crore club in 9 days, reaffirming the massive popularity of Georgekutty's story among audiences. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) However, the momentum has slowed noticeably in recent days. At the end of the 14th day, Drishyam 3 has grossed approximately 229 crore worldwide, with daily collections witnessing a steady decline during its second week. The film's India gross collections are around 118 crores, while overseas markets have contributed approx 111 crores so far. The slowdown comes after an exceptional opening phase that saw the film become one of the fastest Malayalam releases to cross major box office milestones. While the franchise's loyal fanbase ensured a blockbuster start, sustaining the same momentum has proven difficult as weekday collections continue to soften due to mixed word of mouth. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Drishyam 3 India Gross Collection 1st week - 95.10 crore (8 days) 2nd Friday - 5.00 crore 2nd Saturday - 5.90 crore 2nd Sunday - 6.20 crore 2nd Monday - 2.55 crore 2nd Tuesday - 1.80 crore 2nd Wednesday - 1.45 crore 2nd Thursday - 1.25 crore (expected) Total (15 days) - 119.25 crore (expected) With around 20 crore more needed to hit the 250 crore worldwide benchmark, the coming days will be crucial. The film still has realistic chances of reaching the milestone, but it looks unlikely to beat Mohanlal's Empuraan (266+ crore) as the second biggest Malayalam grosser. At one point, it was expected to enter the prestigious 300 crore club, but now, that mark is looking like a far cry. Nevertheless, Drishyam 3 remains a major commercial success for Malayalam cinema and another significant achievement for Mohanlal. While it may or may not cross Empuraan, the crime suspense thriller will be beating Vaazha 2 (235.25 crores) to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year (so far).

Blast Day 7 Box Office: 3.16 Crore Gross; Kerala Emerges as a Major Stronghold with 6.36 Crore Total

BY SACNILK

Blast is currently finishing its first week on a positive note, maintaining a steady trajectory even during the mid-week period. On its 7th day, the film collected 3.16 crore gross across the Indian market. This represents a logical drop from the previous day, which is a standard trend as the initial opening weekend rush settles into a more stable daily pattern. The film has managed to sustain 2,544 shows across the country. Directed by Subash K. Raj and produced under the AGS Entertainment banner, Blast is a Tamil-language action-family thriller that seems to have struck a chord with its target audience. The story features Arjun Sarja in the role of a disciplined karate master, and early feedback from viewers has highlighted the standout performances by Preity Mukhundhan and Abhirami. The mix of family emotions and action elements has helped the film stay relevant in both urban and rural centers during its first seven days. Tamil Nadu continues to be the primary driver for the film, contributing 1.55 crore gross on Wednesday. Interestingly, Kerala has also emerged as a very strong territory, adding another 1.15 crore gross on Day 7. With these latest numbers, the total India net collection now stands at 23.75 crore, while the total India gross has reached 27.29 crore. For a film produced on a moderate budget, reaching these figures within the first week is a healthy sign for its long-term recovery. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The performance in the Kerala market has been one of the biggest highlights of the film's first week. On Wednesday, Blast grossed 1.15 crore in the state, pushing its total Kerala gross to a solid 6.36 crore in just seven days. To give some context to these numbers, the film is trending exceptionally well compared to major franchises in the region. For example, Drishyam 3 had recorded a gross of 1.20 crore in Kerala on its 14th day. For Blast to maintain nearly that same volume of collection on its 7th day shows that it has successfully tapped into the local audience's preference for thrillers, outperforming typical expectations for a mid-budget Tamil production in the state. Looking at the state-wise breakdown for Day 7, Tamil Nadu predictably leads the way with a gross of 1.55 crore. A significant highlight, however, is the performance in Kerala, where the film earned a strong 1.15 crore gross on Wednesday. The Telugu-speaking regions contributed 0.30 crore, while Karnataka added 0.15 crore to the daily total. These numbers, along with a small contribution of about 1 lakh from the rest of the country, bring the single-day domestic gross to 3.16 crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) On the global stage, early trends suggest the international market is providing a solid boost. On Wednesday, the film added approximately 0.50 crore from overseas regions, taking the total overseas gross to an estimated 7.30 crore. This is a noteworthy achievement for a mid-budget production that does not feature one of the top-tier superstars, proving that the content and Arjun Sarja's screen presence have found an audience beyond domestic borders. Combining the domestic gross with these early trends, the worldwide gross collection for Blast is now nearing 34.59 crore. On the digital booking front, the film remains a popular choice for moviegoers. In the last 24 hours alone, nearly 58,400 tickets were sold on BookMyShow, bringing the total ticket count on the platform to over 6.15 lakh since release. Occupancy in major cities like Chennai remains healthy at around 34 percent, while regions like Coimbatore and Vizag are seeing stable footfalls, particularly during the evening and night shows where demand is highest. National multiplex chains have also played a key role in supporting the first-week totals. On Day 7, these major chains accounted for a gross of approximately 86 lakhs, with nearly 59,000 tickets sold. The overall occupancy in these premium screens stood at roughly 10 percent for the day. As the film moves into its second weekend, the goal will be to see how much it can capitalize on the current momentum to further boost its 34.59 crore global tally before new competition arrives.

Mollywood Times: Censored U/A With 167 Minute Runtime; Advance Bookings Now Open For This Coming-Of-Age Comedy-Drama

BY SACNILK

Mollywood Times has officially cleared the censorship process with a U/A certificate and a runtime of 167 minutes, which is roughly 2 hours and 47 minutes. The film also features Vineeth Sreenivasan and Basil Joseph as part of the cast, adding to the ensemble for this upcoming release. This film marks the highly anticipated second directorial outing of Abhinav Sunder Nayak, who previously surprised everyone with the dark-comedy hit Mukundan Unni Associates. This time, he is bringing a satirical coming-of-age story that stars Naslen in the lead role. He is joined by a talented group of actors including Sharafudheen, Sangeeth Prathap, and Roshan Shanavas, making it a very strong ensemble for a comedy-drama. What makes Mollywood Times stand out is its unique branding as a hate letter to cinema. Instead of the usual romanticized look at filmmaking, the story follows Vineeth Madhavan (played by Naslen), a young man from Kuttikkanam who is determined to become the best horror filmmaker Malayalam cinema has ever seen. He views the industry with a bit of cynicism and feels it is his mission to save it from repetitive cliches. The plot focuses on his chaotic and humorous struggle to get his unconventional horror vision onto the big screen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film's marketing has also been quite a talking point, especially the first-look poster that mimics a retro 90s CD cover. It carries a bold tagline: Not for those who believe in the myth of a beautiful life, which perfectly sets the tone for the satirical nature of the movie. This unconventional approach seems to be working well with the target audience, as the film is already trending on BookMyShow. According to the latest interest metrics, the movie has already crossed over 64,000 Interested clicks on BookMyShow, reflecting a high level of anticipation. Advance bookings for the film are now officially open across various regions. Produced by Ashiq Usman, Mollywood Times is scheduled for a global theatrical release this Friday, June 5, 2026. It will be interesting to see how this satirical take on the film world resonates with the viewers this weekend.
