Box Office: 'Dragon' Roars Past 100 Crore Gross Worldwide
Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the coming-of-age comedy-drama has been a box-office triumph since the day it was released on February 21. On the back of positive reviews and reception from the audience, Dragon scored a big opening and showed a stronghold during weekdays.
The film entered the second weekend after one of the biggest first-week collections for a young hero and on its 10th day, it entered the 100 crores club at the worldwide box office. In India, the movie has grossed approximately 84 crores, including around 57 crores in Tamil Naud while overseas collection is approximately 25 crores for the global 10 days' total of 109 crores gross.
Dragon is only the second Tamil movie after Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi (136 crores gross) and the 7th Indian title of 2025 to enter the 100 crores club. The film's incredible box office performance is set to take it past Vidaamuyarchi in the coming days to make it the biggest Tamil grosser of the year so far.
Produced by AGS Entertainment, Dragon also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Maryan, K. S. Ravikumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mysskin in key roles. In the film, a young man leaves college with 48 arrears but manages to build a good life until he is forced to return to college and clear his backlogs.
