Box Office: Dream Girl 2 Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates
Mumbai, August 25 - Ayushmann Khurrana can finally breathe as "Dream Girl 2" has taken a good start at the box office. The actor has been in desperate need of a box-office success post the COVID-19 pandemic, and the sequel has ignited some hope with a much better start than most of his previous movies.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, "Dream Girl 2" is flirting with the double-digit opening as the estimate suggests 9.50-10 crores net on its opening day/first Friday. The opening of the movie is not much behind its predecessor which opened at 10.05 crores net in 2019.
"Dream Girl 2" is strong in metro cities, especially in the Maharashtra region and Delhi. It is not that strong on single screens which was expected its content is not mass-friendly, plus, "Gadar 2" is still preferred over other movies in smaller centers.
Ayushmann Khurrana's biggest opener to date is "Bala" which scored 10.15 crores net collection. "Dream Girl 2" might entertain the biggest opening for the actor, depending on how strong mass centers are. The initial word of mouth for the movie is mixed but the franchise value can help to grow over the weekend which is expected to 35+ crores net.
