Box Office: 'Khaleja' Re-Release Creates Record In North America
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Khaleja has created a record at the North American box office, becoming the highest-grossing Indian re-release movie in just one day. Prathyangira Cinemas, which released the movie in North America, announced this major milestone on social media.
The film grossed approximately $58K from premieres, and $36K on the opening day, taking the total collection to $94K. With this, it has beaten the lifetime gross collection of Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh, which minted approximately $66K, to become the biggest Indian re-release grosser in NA.
Khaleja will become the first film to cross the $100K mark in NA, and this will be a huge result for the movie. Interestingly, the movie was a flop in its original release, but gained cult status with immense popularity on television over the years.
