Box Office: Megastar Mammootty's 'Turbo' Scored An Excellent First Day
Kochi, May 24 - Megastar Mammootty's action comedy Turbo set the box office on fire and scored the second biggest opening of 2024 for a Malayalam film after Prithviraj Sukumaran's blockbuster Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life.



Turbo has had one of the biggest releases for a Malayalam title. On its opening day, the movie minted approximately 7.20 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, including 6.15 crores gross in Kerala state alone which is the biggest opening for Mammootty. Aadujeevitham took the opening of 8.75 crores gross in India.



In Kerala, Turbo had the biggest start of the year and third biggest overall after Odiyan (6.75 crores) and Marakkar (6.25 crores). Earlier, superstar Mohanlal's Malaikottai Vaaliban was the biggest opener of 2024 with 5.80 crores gross collection in the state.



The rest of the domestic collection (outside Kerala) of Turbo is approximately 1.05 crore, including an estimated 65 lakh in Karnataka. The word of mouth for the film is super positive and it is expected to have an excellent opening weekend in Kerala and the rest of the markets.
