Box Office: Oppenheimer Scores Good Fourth Weekend In India
Mumbai, August 14 - Christopher Nolan's highest-grossing movie in India, "Oppenheimer" has a good third weekend at the Indian box office despite facing competition with a few of the Indian movies that are running riot.
The Cillian Murphy-led atom bomb movie clocked approx. 6.50 crores in the fourth weekend, pushing the total gross collection to approx. 147 crores. It will finish over 150 crores gross thus emerging superhit at the Indian box office. It is also the highest-grossing Hollywood movie in India this year.
The biggest advantage "Oppenheimer" is having the IMAX screens on which it is performing exceptionally well. In its 4th weekend in India, the IMAX gross collection of the movie is approx. 3.50 crores while the total gross so far in this format is over 30 crores which is about 20% of the total collection.
"Oppenheimer" has so far grossed approx. $650 million (5390 crores) at the global box office through 4th Sunday. At the domestic (North America) box office, it has minted $264.5 million (2195 crores) while the international collection is approx. $385 million (3190 crores). India is the fifth biggest international market for the movie.
Meanwhile, Margot Robbie-led "Barbie" scored approx. 1 crore gross in its 4th weekend, taking total gross collection to approx. 52.70 crores. Worldwide, "Barbie" soared to $1.18 billion (9790 crores), including $657.5 million (5455 crores) internationally.
