Box Office: Sivakarthikeyan's Blockbuster 'Doctor' Grossed Rs. 100 Crores Worldwide
Chennai, November 3 - It has been a remarkable few weeks for Tamil cinema, which was on the ventilenter a month ago. And this is all because of Sivakarthikeyan's action-comedy, "Doctor", which is ruling the box office since its debut on October 9. Earlier, the movie was supposed to release directly on OTT, but at the elevanth hour, makers changed their mind and what a turnaround this has been since then.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, "Doctor" has already been decalred an all-time blockbuster and now, it has entered the Rs. 100 crore club worldwide. On Tuesday (Nov. 2), makers announced that their film has officially broke into Rs. 100 crore league, which is the first 100 crore film for Sivakarthikeyan.
Doctor revived the theatrical business and is the first blockbuster after the second wave of the pandemic. The movie crossed the 100 crore mark on its 25th day, which includes Rs. 80.10 crores in India alone including both Tamil and Telugu versions. In Chennai, it has grossed over Rs. 14 crores so far.
Co-starring Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead (in her Tamil debut) along with Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Milind Soman, and Bikramjeet Kanwarpal supporting roles, Doctor is produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions, and KJR Studios. It is set to premiere on Sun TV on the 4th of November and will then be available on Netflix from the 5th.
