Box Office: Super Mario Bros. Movie Crosses $500 Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, April 15 - The Universal, Illumination, and Nintendo's The Super Mario Bros. Movie continues to soar high at the box office and has crossed $500 million worldwide.
The video game animated feature adaptation is a one-horse race at the moment at the domestic as well as the overseas box office. To date, the animated adventure has earned $260.3 million domestically (North America) and $248.4 million internationally, for a total worldwide cume of $508.7 million.
Co-directed by Aaron Horvath, and Michael Jelenic, Super Mario has now become the highest-grossing film of 2023, surpassing Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's $475 million at the global box office in just 9 days.
More importantly, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is now the biggest video game adaptation in history, after topping the lifetime total of Universal's Warcraft's $440 million and Warner Bros. Pokémon: Detective Pikachu's $449 million globally.
Made with a budget of $100 million, the film features a voice cast of Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black, among others. In all probability, the film is set to open its account in the $1 billion club along with the announcement of its sequel.
