Bhooth Bangla Day 15 Box Office: India Net Hits 132.65 Cr as it Surpasses the 3rd Friday Collection Records of URI and Kalki 2898 AD

BY SACNILK

Bhooth Bangla has shown a positive trend as it enters its third week at the box office. On day 15, which was its third Friday, the film collected a net of 4.50 crore. This represents a solid 28.6 percent growth compared to the 3.50 crore it earned on Thursday. This kind of upward movement on a Friday suggests that the film still has enough legs to draw in the weekend crowd even after two weeks in theaters. What makes these numbers even more impressive is the current state of the box office. With the major release of films like Raja Shivaji, Patriot, and The Devil Wears Prada 2 yesterday, the competition for screen space has become intense. This crowded market led to a sharp reduction in shows for Bhooth Bangla, which dropped from roughly 8,000 shows on Thursday to 4,807 shows on Friday.Managing a 28.6 percent growth while operating on nearly half the number of shows is a strong indicator of the film's resilience. It suggests that while total capacity decreased, the occupancy per show spiked as audiences continued to favor this two-week-old release despite the arrival other competitions. The total India net collection has now reached 132.65 crore. When you consider the reported budget of 120 crore, the film has officially moved past the recovery stage and is now comfortably in the profit zone. The total India gross collection stands at 157.55 crore so far, reflecting a very healthy run in the domestic market across its 4,807 shows on day 15. It is interesting to see where the film stands in historical terms. With its day 15 performance, Bhooth Bangla has secured the 18th spot on the list of highest third-Friday collections for Hindi movies. By achieving this, it has surpassed the third-Friday numbers of major blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and URI: The Surgical Strike. This ranking is a clear indicator of the film's consistent holding power at the box office. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ticket sales on BookMyShow continue to stay active, with 89,070 tickets sold on the third Friday alone. This brings the total tickets sold on the platform to a massive 25.24 lakh. In the national multiplex chains, the movie saw steady footfalls, selling approximately 19,100 tickets and grossing about 60 lakh on day 15. While these are not opening-day levels, they are very respectable figures for a third-week run. The overseas performance has also been a key part of the film's success story. On day 15, it added 1.25 crore from international markets, taking the total overseas gross to 53.50 crore. The Gulf region has emerged as a standout territory, with the UAE alone contributing 1.07 million dollars (roughly 9 crore) over the 15-day period. Given that the UAE usually drives the bulk of the region’s business, the total GCC contribution is trending in the $1.5 million to $1.7 million range. This performance has played a major role in pushing the worldwide gross past the 211.05 crore mark. Looking at the trajectory, we can expect a significant jump over the rest of the third weekend. Saturday and Sunday are likely to see even better occupancy, which could potentially push the third-weekend net total toward the 16 to 18 crore range. If this trend continues, Bhooth Bangla is well on its way to finishing its third weekend with a net total near 140-145 crore, further increasing its profitability for the makers.

Bhooth Bangla Week 2 Box Office: Akshay Kumar Scores Rs.43.75 Cr, his Second-Highest Post-COVID Week 2 as Global Collections Breach 200 Crores

Akshay Kumar's latest horror-comedy venture, Bhooth Bangla, has maintained a very impressive momentum throughout its second week. The film managed to collect approximately 43.75 crore net during this period, showing that the genre still holds significant sway over the family audience. If you have been following the box office performance of Akshay’s films in the post-pandemic era, this result is particularly noteworthy as it solidifies the movie as one of his most stable performers in recent years. This steady hold has now pushed the total worldwide gross past the 200 crore milestone, a clear sign of the film's wide acceptance. When we look at the daily trends in national multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, the second weekend performance was the clear highlight. On the second Friday, the film sold about 16,000 tickets, which saw a massive jump on Saturday to 45,000 bookings. The momentum peaked on the second Sunday with over 57,000 tickets sold in these chains alone. Even on the weekdays, the film showed surprising resilience, especially on Tuesday where it spiked to 32,000 tickets. In total, Bhooth Bangla sold approximately 185,000 tickets across major national chains during its second week, indicating strong ground-level interest in urban centers. By the end of its second week, Bhooth Bangla reached a milestone of 2.44 million tickets booked on the platform. To give you some context on where this sits among the biggest releases of the 2025-26 cycle, here is how the leaderboard looks for ticket sales at the end of the second week: Dhurandhar 2: 14.95 Million Chhaava: 8.97 Million Dhurandhar: 8.05 Million Saiyaara: 6.24 Million Border 2: 4.92 Million War 2: 3.35 Million Bhooth Bangla: 2.44 Million To break down the 2.44 million milestone for Bhooth Bangla, the journey started with roughly 170,000 tickets in pre-sales and a strong first week that accounted for 1.45 million bookings. The second week added another 820,000 tickets, with the weekend days—Friday through Sunday—contributing nearly 512,000 of those bookings. The daily performance on the platform remained consistent even on weekdays, ranging between 64,000 and 88,000 tickets daily. Coming to the overall totals, Bhooth Bangla has now achieved a worldwide gross of 204.40 crore, which includes an India gross of 152.15 crore and a solid contribution of 52.25 crore from overseas. While the total India net stands at 128.15 crore across 144,768 shows, the current momentum is what stands out. Even with several new films releasing today, the movie is benefiting from the long weekend and showing a massive 2x jump in its booking trend. For instance, between 11 AM and 12 PM today, the film sold nearly 8,860 tickets on BookMyShow compared to 4,470 during the same period yesterday. Since 8 AM today, the total tickets sold have already touched 21,800, which is more than double yesterday's tally of approximately 10,200. This strong resilience in the face of fresh competition further cements its hit status as it prepares for another big weekend.

Dhurandhar 2 Week 6 Box Office: A 12 Crore Hold Sets the Stage to Surpass Baahubali 2's 1788 Crore Worldwide Record

BY SACNILK

Dhurandhar 2 has officially proven that it is not just a massive opener but a genuine marathon runner at the box office. While most big-budget films struggle to stay relevant after the third week, this sequel has managed to hold its ground even in its sixth week. The film wrapped up the week with a collection of approximately 12.40 crore, which is a testament to its incredible leg-room. If you look at the language breakdown, the Hindi version continues to do the heavy lifting, contributing nearly 11.80 crore of the total, while the South Indian markets added about 60 lakh collectively. One of the most impressive aspects of this journey has been the digital footfall on BookMyShow. The film has reached a staggering milestone of 1.81 crore total tickets booked on the platform since its release. This momentum started with 2.41 million tickets in pre-sales and a massive 8.92 million in its first extended week. The footfall remained high with 3.62 million in the second week and 1.58 million in the third, followed by nearly 1.3 million tickets combined across weeks four and five. Even in its sixth week, the film added another 259,000 tickets to its tally. On Friday, it sold around 7,700 tickets, which nearly tripled on Saturday to 21,700 tickets. The momentum peaked on Sunday with over 27,000 tickets sold in these major chains alone. Even on the weekdays, the film showed surprising resilience, particularly on Tuesday where it saw a spike back up to nearly 20,000 tickets. By the end of its sixth week, Dhurandhar 2 sold a total of approximately 96,000 tickets across the top national chains. This kind of consistency at such a late stage in its theatrical run is what separates a regular hit from an all-time blockbuster. To put these numbers into perspective, we have to look at where Dhurandhar 2 stands in the history of Indian cinema. By collecting 12.40 crore in its sixth week, it has officially entered the top five list of highest-ever week six collections. It has managed to edge past the likes of Uri: The Surgical Strike, while trailing behind only a few legendary performers like its predecessor and the other releases Stree 2 and Chhaava. With a total worldwide collection of 1,783.66 crore—comprising 1,358.51 crore in India gross and 425.15 crore from overseas—Dhurandhar 2 is now on the verge of making history. It currently sits just about 5 crore away from the lifetime worldwide collection of Baahubali 2, which stands at 1,788.06 crore. Given its steady week six hold and a net collection of 1,135.04 crore across over 5 lakh shows, the film is now almost certain to surpass that legendary figure by the end of its seventh weekend.

Raja Shivaji vs. Chhaava Advance Booking:Analyzing the Clash Between Regional Authenticity and Bollywood's Record-Breaking Scale

BY SACNILK

The historical genre in Indian cinema has recently seen two major projects based on the Maratha legacy take very different paths at the box office. While Chhaava was released as a purely Hindi production, the upcoming Raja Shivaji is taking a dual-language approach by releasing in both Marathi and Hindi. Although it is clear from the data that Raja Shivaji is playing on a different commercial level, comparing the two provides a fascinating look at how a multi-lingual regional film stands against a massive Bollywood production. To understand the scale of this competition, we have to look at the benchmark set by Chhaava for its opening day. Even as a Hindi-only release, the film managed to generate immense momentum, particularly within Maharashtra. Its final advance booking for day one stood at approximately 4.88 lakh tickets sold across India, translating to a gross of nearly 17.89 crore including block seats. This volume was driven by a heavy presence in national chains, where it sold over 2.14 lakh tickets, setting a high bar for any historical drama aiming for a massive start. On the other hand, Raja Shivaji is leaning into a strategy that combines regional loyalty with a wide national footprint. Backed by Jio Studios, the film is aiming for a massive showing of around 5,700 shows nationwide across its two versions. However, the internal breakdown of these shows tells a very interesting story about where the demand actually lies. Despite having a massive push in Hindi with nearly 3,900 shows, that version has sold only about 34,000 tickets so far. In sharp contrast, the Marathi version is completely dominating the pre-sales, selling over 1.67 lakh tickets from just 1,786 shows. This clear preference for the native language version is what has pushed the total opening day advance to approximately 2.02 lakh tickets, resulting in a gross of 6.54 crore with block seats. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Day 1 Advance Booking: Chhaava vs. Raja ShivajiMETRICCHHAAVA (HINDI ONLY)RAJA SHIVAJI (MAR + HIN)Total Tickets Sold4.88 Lakh2.02 LakhTotal Advance Gross (With Block)₹ 17.89 Cr₹ 6.54 CrBMS Final Pre-Sales776.6K Tickets217.3K TicketsNational Chain Sales2.14 Lakh81,866 Tickets The regional data is where the story gets even more detailed. Even though Chhaava was purely in Hindi, its subject matter ensured that it dominated Maharashtra. It recorded a massive opening with nearly 4.50 crore in advance sales from the state alone, with Pune and Mumbai showing occupancy peaks of 62.5 percent and nearly 80 percent. Coming to Raja Shivaji, the response is heavily concentrated in its native language. The Marathi 2D version has sold over 1.67 lakh tickets, with Mumbai and Pune showing real occupancy levels of 44 percent and 55 percent respectively. However, the Hindi version is seeing a slower start, with territories like NCR currently at a 2 percent occupancy across 433 shows. While Chhaava set a high benchmark with its 33.50 crore opening day net, Raja Shivaji is testing how far a film can go when it prioritizes its regional roots while still competing for a national footprint. Even if it does not reach the same opening day totals as a major Bollywood actioner, the current pre-sales and the sheer scale of its release are already setting a historic new benchmark for the Marathi film industry.

Bollywood Buzz: Ranveer Singh's Pralay Shoot Begins In August 2026 As Vicky Kaushal Blocks 18 Months For Mahavatar

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, April 30 - Bollywood's upcoming slate continues to get bigger and more ambitious, with two major projects starring Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal making headlines for their scale, timelines, genre diversity, and other reasons. Pralay Begins In August 2026 After the historic success of Dhurandhar films, Ranveer Singh is set to headline the post-apocalyptic thriller Pralay, directed by Jai Mehta. Over the last few days, there have been rumours that Pralay has had a creative difference and might be pushed back indefinitely. But according to the latest report by Variety India, there is no truth in such rumours, and the project is on. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With a reported budget of three hundred crore rupees, Pralay is scheduled to go on floors by August this year. The production plans to merge physical sets with cutting-edge AI-driven visuals to create a dystopian atmosphere unlike anything seen in Indian cinema. South Indian actress Kalyani Priyadarshan has been finalised to make her Hindi film debut alongside Singh, marking a fresh pairing for this survival drama. Vicky Kaushal Blocks 18 Months For Mahavatar In a simultaneous move toward grand-scale storytelling, Vicky Kaushal has dedicated an eighteen-month window to the epic Mahavatar. Starting in June 2026, the actor will undergo a rigorous six-month preparation phase involving physical transformation and workshops to inhabit the role of the immortal sage-warrior Parashurama. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Once filming begins in January 2027, Kaushal intends to stay focused exclusively on this project until its completion in December. This level of commitment means he will not take on any other films during this period, ensuring total immersion in the character. This decision highlights a growing trend among top-tier actors to prioritise singular, high-impact performances over multiple concurrent shoots. Vicky Kaushal is expected to wrap his work on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War just in time to begin his intense prep for Mahavatar. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh has reportedly moved away from the Don franchise to explore new genres, leaving a vacancy in that iconic series. As these stars lock in their schedules, the industry is clearly pivoting toward long-term investments in world-building and myth-making that seek to captivate global audiences.

The movie grossed approximately 199.50 crores worldwide in 13 days, and at the time of writing this piece, it has topped 200 crores worldwide and has become the third Bollywood film of the year to do so after Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Strong Domestic and Worldwide Performance Priyadarshan's directorial had a very good opening weekend collection of around 96 crores worldwide, including 69.50 crores gross domestically. It topped the 100 crores worldwide gross mark on its fourth day and eventually ended the first week after a good hold during weekdays with 136 crores worldwide, which included 100+ crores gross in India alone. Bhooth Bangla remained the first choice of moviegoers in the second weekend in India with around 34.50 crores gross, while worldwide the weekend grossed in the range of 47 crores. With 183 crores globally at the end of the second weekend (10th day), it eventually topped the double century on its 14th day, emerging as a certified box office winner. It has performed superbly in overseas territories with 13 days gross around 51.50 crores. The film benefited from strong word of mouth among family audiences, which helped it sustain collections beyond the initial weekend rush. Its blend of horror and comedy proved to be a winning formula once again, drawing repeat viewers and ensuring a healthy run in both domestic and overseas markets. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 12th Film of Akshay Kumar To Hit 200 Crores Worldwide The success of Bhooth Bangla, which is Akshay Kumar's 12th film in the 200 crores club, also reflects the actor's enduring appeal in the comedy genre, especially when combined with elements of mass entertainment. Over the years, he has delivered several successful films across genres, and this latest entry adds another feather to his cap. Notable films in his 200 crore worldwide club include 2.0, Good Newwz, Mission Mangal, Sooryavanshi, and Housefull 4, all of which contributed to his strong box office track record. In addition to its theatrical performance, the film's success highlights the continued popularity of the horror-comedy genre in India, which has consistently delivered strong numbers in recent years. The accessible storytelling, combined with humour and light thrills, has made such films appealing to a wide section of the audience. With Bhooth Bangla crossing the 200 crore milestone, Akshay Kumar once again proves his box office reliability. The film is expected to continue its run for some time. While growth may now slow down, it has already secured its position as a successful venture and an important addition to the actor's impressive filmography. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Trailer: T-Series To Host Unique Jungle-Themed Launch At Mumbai's National Park

BY SACNILK

The anticipation surrounding Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has become strong following the response to its teaser released on April 20. Capitalizing on this momentum and the specific setting of the comic caper, the makers have planned an unconventional marketing move. T-Series, in collaboration with B R Studios, is set to host a first-of-its-kind trailer launch event at Mumbai's Sanjay Gandhi National Park on Saturday, May 2. According to an exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama, this marks the first time the National Park has been utilized for a major film event, blending cinema with nature for an immersive experience. The event is designed to be visually striking and immersive, featuring the principal star cast and the director. To make the launch memorable for the media and attendees, the organizers have curated specific activities, including a ride on the famous Van Rani Toy Train and boating sessions alongside the film’s talent. This jungle-themed concept aims to mirror the vibrant and chaotic energy of the film, providing a unique backdrop for the unveiling of the trailer. With preparations currently in full swing, the industry is looking at this as a significant step in the evolution of film promotional events in Mumbai. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film is a spiritual successor to the 2019 hit that grossed over 100 crore in India. Aziz, who is considered the architect of the modern franchise, is expected to bring his signature blend of situational comedy and sharp relationship drama back to the big screen. The sequel expands the conflict by featuring three female leads instead of two, creating what fans are calling a more chaotic Pativerse. For Ayushmann Khurrana, this project is a crucial addition to his comedy-drama portfolio as he looks to maintain his streak of theatrical successes. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film boasts a fresh and buzzy ensemble cast including Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The pairing of Ayushmann and Sara is a major talking point, as they have also collaborated on the spy-comedy Udta Teer, scheduled for later this year. Additionally, the film marks a reunion for Ayushmann with Rakul Preet after their 2022 project Doctor G, and brings back his popular dynamic with Wamiqa Gabbi. This combination of fresh chemistry and proven on-screen partnerships is expected to be a major draw for the family audience when the film arrives in theaters. From a box office perspective, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do comes at a time when Ayushmann Khurrana has reclaimed his commercial mojo. After the success of Dream Girl 2, which netted over 100 crore, the actor delivered another winner in late 2025 with the supernatural horror-comedy Thamma. By officially joining the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, Ayushmann has built significant momentum heading into 2026. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 15, 2026. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishnan Kumar, and Renu Ravi Chopra, the film is being positioned as a premier summer entertainer. With a unique trailer launch on the horizon and a cast that balances established stardom with rising talent, the production is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the film grabs maximum eyeballs. Following the trailer reveal on May 2, the team is expected to embark on a multi-city promotional tour ahead of the mid-May release.

Vicky Kaushal is currently navigating one of the most significant phases of his career, lining up back-to-back large-scale spectacles. Following the immense anticipation surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, the actor is now gearing up for another ambitious project in the form of Maddock Films' upcoming mythological epic, Mahavatar. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is set to see Vicky in a role that demands an unprecedented level of commitment and physical transformation. According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, the actor has blocked a total of 18 months exclusively for this project, signaling the massive scale and depth of the upcoming production. The timeline for Mahavatar begins immediately after Vicky concludes his work on Bhansali's Love and War. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is preparing for a crucial 50-day schedule starting in May 2026. Bhansali aims to wrap the film by the end of June 2026, targeting a high-profile theatrical release on January 21, 2027. Once the cameras stop rolling for Love and War, Vicky is slated to dive straight into an intensive six-month preparatory module for Mahavatar starting in June 2026. This preparatory phase is designed to be a comprehensive training program. It includes a rigorous physical transformation aimed at bulking up the actor's physique to match the mythological scale of the character, alongside a series of acting workshops. Amar Kaushik has reportedly designed a detailed module that focuses not only on the physical aspects but also on the psychological and emotional journey of the character. This deep-dive preparation is essential as Vicky is set to portray Chiranjeevi Parashurama, a figure known for immense strength and spiritual depth in Indian history. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The actual filming of Mahavatar is slated to commence in January 2027. The production is looking at an extensive one-year shooting schedule that is expected to wrap up by December 2027. During this entire period, Vicky Kaushal has consciously decided not to take up any other professional assignments. By dedicating his full attention to Mahavatar, the actor aims to maintain consistency in his performance and look, treating the film as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. While there is a slight possibility of a small project being squeezed in before January 2027, it remains contingent on his prep timeline and physical state. The buzz around Mahavatar has been exceptionally high since the release of its first-look poster, which showcased a fierce and unrecognizable Vicky Kaushal as Parashurama. Coming from the stable of Maddock Films, which has recently found immense success with its supernatural and horror-comedy universe through films like Stree and Munjya, this foray into the mythological space represents a bold new direction for the studio and director Amar Kaushik. With Vicky’s total immersion into the role and the backing of a proven director-producer duo, Mahavatar is being positioned as one of the most significant cinematic events of 2027.

Tumbbad 2 Release Date Confirmed: Sohum Shah Returns for a Grand Horror Sequel

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, April 29 - Fans of the cult classic Indian folk horror film can finally mark their calendars. Following years of speculation and a record-breaking theatrical re-release of the original film, makers have officially announced that Tumbbad 2, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and others, will hit cinemas on December 3, 2027. While the first film was a masterclass in claustrophobic tension and greed, Tumbbad 2 promises a massive leap in scale. The sequel's central theme is said to be "Pralay" - the Hindu concept of cosmic dissolution or the apocalypse. This suggests that while the first film dealt with the personal greed of one family, the sequel may explore the catastrophic consequences of that greed on a much larger, perhaps even global, scale. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Directed by Adesh Prasad, Tumbbad 2 is positioning itself as one of the most expensive horror-fantasy films ever made in India, with a reported 150 crore budget. A significant portion of this budget is being allocated to cutting-edge visual effects and the elaborate practical sets required to bring the "Pralay" vision to life. Production of the film has already commenced, giving it enough time for filming and post-production to ensure the sequel matches the meticulous craftsmanship of its predecessor. The original Tumbbad took six years to make and was a slow-burn success that eventually gained legendary status on streaming platforms. With the sequel, the producers are aiming for a global blockbuster right out of the gate. As the December 2027 release date approaches, Tumbbad 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated Indian films of the decade.

Raja Shivaji (Hindi) and Ek Din Day 1 Box Office Prediction: Can The New Releases Challenge Holdovers?

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, April 29 - The Box Office battleground for May 1, 2026, is set. As the industry celebrates Maharashtra Day, two distinct films - the Marathi historical epic Raja Shivaji and the soulful romance Ek Din - are hitting the big screen amid mid expectations. But the big question is, can these new entrants topple the strong holdovers, in the form of Bhooth Bangla and Dhurandhar 2, currently dominating the charts? Raja Shivaji: The Regional Powerhouse (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Directed by and starring Riteish Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji is the most anticipated Marathi film in years. While the Marathi version is expected to see a historic opening, the Hindi dubbed version faces a different set of expectations. The advance booking for the film is good overall, but the Hindi version is seeing an underwhelming response. The advance booking trend suggests Hindi opening of Raja Shivaji around 1.50-2 crores net, but the movie has the advantage of the genre and a story deeply personal to the people, especially in Maharashtra. Releasing on Maharashtra Day is another plus, which is expected to boost the walk-in footfalls. However, despite having certain advantages, the original Marathi version is expected to dominate the footfalls, leaving not much room for the Hindi version. While the trade is expecting the Hindi opening in the range of 3-4 crore net, the trend suggests it might be somewhere between 2-3 crores net, depending on spot bookings. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ek Din: Low Buzz, Word-of-Mouth Dependent Backed by Aamir Khan's production house, Ek Din stars his son Junaid Khan alongside Sai Pallavi. Despite the reputation attached to it, the film has struggled to generate some sort of pre-release excitement. The makers tried to boost the buzz by opening the advance sales a month before the release date, but things haven't turned out as expected with low pre-sales. As a result, Ek Din is expected to open in the 1 to 2 crore net range on Day 1. The romantic drama's niche appeal and limited awareness mean that its box office journey will heavily depend on audience word of mouth rather than an initial surge. Bhooth Bangla To Remain Top Choice? (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Superstar Akshay Kumar-fronted horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has been performing very well since its release on April 17, and is expected to remain the top choice in Hindi this Friday, unless the new releases really surprise on the release day. There is Dhurandhar 2 also, which, even though it is slowing down, is expected to retain some screens and collect on low levels.
