Director Om Raut Speaks On The Comparison Between 'Adipurush' And Akshay Kumar-Fronted 'Ram Setu'
Meanwhile, apart from the criticism, "Adipurush" is also being compared with Akshay Kumar-fronted "Ram Setu" which is also based on the epic Ramayana theme. During a recent media interaction, Om Raut was asked to react to the comparisons being drawn between the two films.
The filmmaker said that he is proud of Akshay Kumar and that he is making this film which proudly represents our history. "Ramayana is our history, and as a proud devotee of Lord Rama, I am extremely happy since in Ram Setu it's been proved that all that happened was not fiction".
"It proves to this world, this generation that Ramayana is our actual history and not just a mythological story. I even told Akshay sir that I am very proud that this film is coming. It proves our rich history and it shows everyone we have our Ram Janmabhoomi, we have Panchavati and we also have Ram Setu", Raut said.
"Ram Setu", directed by Abhishek Sharma, is slated to release on October 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The plot of the film involves an archaeologist, who has set out to check out whether the bridge is a myth or a reality. It also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Satya Dev in key roles.
On the other hand, "Adipurush" depicts the warrior side of Lord Rama and is a heavy VFX film that is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, in multiple languages in IMAX and 3D. It is produced by T-Series and Retrophiles.
