Disney's 'Zootopia 2' and 'Moana 2' Set Release Dates
Los Angeles, February 8 - Disney has officially confirmed the sequel to his 2016 animated musical fantasy adventure film Moana in a surprising turn of events. It is said that Moana 2 was originally planned as a TV series but became a feature film because Disney CEO Bob Iger was impressed with the footage.



Ahead of Disney's first quarter of fiscal 2024 earnings report, the studio unveiled the first look teaser and also set a November 27, 2024, release date. According to Disney (via Variety), "Moana 2" will take audiences on an "expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers".



The original "Moana", released on November 23, 2016, became a success for Disney, generating more than $680 million at the worldwide box office.

Disney's Zootopia 2 has also confirmed its release date. The sequel to the studio's $1 billion-plus animated buddy cop action comedy film will debut in worldwide theatres on November 26, 2025. The original movie, released in 2016, also won the Oscar for Best Animated Film.



Meanwhile, the studio has also confirmed that "Toy Story 5" and "Frozen 3" will be released in 2016, however, the exact release dates are not revealed yet. Apart from this, the recently announced Star Wars movie "Mandalorian and Grogu" will also be coming in 2026.
