Happy Birthday, Salman Khan!
Mumbai, Dec 27, 2021: Today is the birth anniversary of one of the Biggest Superstars of Bollywood history Salman khan. ## Salman Khan started his tinsel-town journey in 1989 with Maine Pyar Kiya and become an overnight star. Maine Pyar Kiya not only become the year's Biggest hit but the biggest hit of the entire decade of the 1980s. The gargantuan success of Maine Pyar Kiya catapulted Salman khan to the league of the biggest stars of that time. ## Salman khan followed Maine Pyar Kiya with plenty of hits and superhits and established his Superstar which soared again with another legendary Blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Two genuine historic all-time blockbusters in the first 5 years of a career were nothing less than a dream. Both Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun were also the Biggest hit as well as the biggest grosser of their respective decade. ## The 90s decade saw Salman khan delivering rain of hits and successful films and he eventually became one of the biggest stars of the 90s decade. Karan Arjun, Hum Saath Saath hai, Biwi No.1, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya - all of them became massive hits. In 1999 - Salman khan delivered Top3 grosser of the year and become the only 2nd star in Bollywood history to achieve this historic feat after Amitabh Bachchan. ## The 2000s decade was not as successful as the 1990s but Salman khan's box office was so strong in the 90s that it made his overall box office remain ahead of any other star even till the middle 2000s decade. Salman khan also managed to give massive hits in this decade as well like Wanted(2009), Partner(2007), and No Entry(2005). There were 4-5 other hits as well but that one huge all-India Blockbuster was missing in his repertoire like the 90s decade. ## As soon as multiplex reached smaller towns, Salman khan has made a massive comeback at the box office and witnessed the type of run which is said to be the strongest run at the box office by any star in the history of the Hindi film industry. From Dabangg(2010) to Dabangg2(2012) Salman Khan has delivered 5 back to back blockbusters and become the only star to achieve this feat. From 2010 to 2012 Salman Khan also delivered 3 back to back highest grosser of the year. ## Later Kick (2014), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai(2017) also become Blockbusters. There was a total of 9 blockbusters in the 2010s decade for Salman khan which is an all-time record. The domination level of Salman khan on box office was such that only his run from 2010-2017 is bigger than many superstars whole career. Also, Salman khan has more Top Grosser of the year than any other star in the history which also includes legends like Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra, and Amitabh Bachchan.
