Hrithik Roshan's 'Fighter' Emerged Number 1 Movie Globally For The Weekend
Mumbai, January 29 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter emerged as the number 1 film globally for the weekend. It is the first Indian film of 2024 to top the worldwide box office weekend chart, beating Hollywood biggies.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the aerial action thriller grossed around 142 crores at the domestic box office over a 4-day weekend and overseas collection is an estimated 61.50 crores for a worldwide 203.75 crores gross box office. North America is the best-performing overseas market for the film with an estimated $4.3 million (36 crores).

Fighter beats the Hollywood romantic comedy "Anyone but You" which scored $19 million (158 crores) this weekend at the worldwide box office, including $4.8 million (40 crores) in the USA alone. "The Beekeeper" was the third-best weekend grosser $18.3 million (152 crores) worldwide.

Produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, Fighter surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross box office collection (both domestically and overseas) of Hrithik Roshan's last film "Vikram Vedha" (135.50 crores) in just three days. With today's collection (5th day), it has become Hrithik's 4th highest-grossing film worldwide.

The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor alongside Karan Singh Grover, Rishabh Sawhney, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles, and serves as the first instalment in a planned aerial action franchise. It is inspired by the Balakot Air Strike conducted by the Indian Air Force.
