It is basically a self-trolling act by the Kannappa team, which is strange to even think about.

As for the box office collection, Kannappa opened to around 11 crores gross at the Indian box office and around 13 crores gross at the worldwide box office. This collection, however, is good for a Vishnu Manchu film. It is, in fact, the biggest opening for the actor.

The presence of superstar Prabhas played a huge role in the opening of Kannappa, as any sort of buzz the movie was able to generate before the release was due to Prabhas, who played a cameo role alongside Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal. It needs to be seen how the movie fares in the coming days, which are crucial for the film's success.
