DPEd (Diploma in Physical Education) is a two-year duration diploma level physical education programme offered at different universities and colleges in India.

The course is usually available as a full-time programme, however, some universities also offer part-time/ distance learning DPEd courses to students.

Through DPEd programme, students get to learn about high, medium, and low accessibility of different sports and games.

The course also gives students an edge to motivate people towards achieving proper physical fitness.

Admission to a DPEd programme is usually provided on the basis of entrance exam conducted at university level followed by a counselling round.

However, some institutions also provide direct admission to candidates on the basis of merit. The merit list is prepared by university officials on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Class 12th.
