Megastar Chiranjeevi And Salman Khan's 'Godfather' Pre-Release Business Details
Chiranjeevi's last film "Acharya" was bombed at the box office and caused heavy losses to the distributors. This time, the investors haven't gone too far in grabbing the theatrical rights of "Godfather", and as a result, it is the lowest valued Chiranjeevi film in recent years.
According to the latest Telugu trade reports, "Godfather" pre-release worldwide theatrical business has been valued at Rs. 91 crores. "Acharya" was valued at Rs. 131 crores while "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" fetched Rs. 187 crores before release.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana area business of "Godfather" has been valued at Rs. 70.50 crores while Karnataka state and overseas rights have been valued at approx. Rs. 6.50 crores and Rs. 7.50 crores, respectively. The movie will also be released in Hindi and the business for the same along with the rest of India has been valued at 6.50 crores. The movie will reportedly need Rs. 92 crores to be deemed a hit at the box office.
Chiranjeevi plays the title role in the movie while Salman will feature in an extended cameo in his Telugu debut film. Produced by Super Good Films and Konidela Production Company, the movie also stars Nayanthara as the female lead along with Puri Jagannadh, Satyadev Kancharana, Murali Sharma, and Samuthirakani, among others.
