The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study graduate and postgraduate medical courses (MBBS, MD, MS) and dental courses (BDS, MDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India.


The undergraduate NEET (UG), for MBBS and BDS courses, is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which provides the results to the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.


Prior to 2019, the test was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt Ltd headquartered in the USA.


NEET-UG is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India.


For NEET-UG, there are questions asked from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology.

There are 45 questions from each of the sections. A correct response gives the candidate 3 marks while 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.


No marks are deducted if the candidate has not attempted a question.

The total time duration is of 3 hours.


NEET UG syllabus consists of concepts taught in standard 11 and 12 in the Indian School Systems.

Dress Code Guidelines:-



For Male Candidates:-


1. Male candidates should make sure that they wear half sleeve shirts.


2. T-shirts as full sleeves are not allowed and must be avoided.


3. Clothes should be light and simple clothes.


4. Trousers will be the preferred dress code of NEET 2019. (Kurta pajama is not allowed)


5. Shoes are not allowed therefore male candidates are advised to wear slippers and sandals.


For Female Candidates:-


1. Female candidates should avoid clothes with embroidery, flowers, brooches and buttons.


2. The clothes should be light, half-sleeves and simple.


(It is advised to strictly adhere to the prescribed dress code of NEET to avoid being debarred or run into unncessary problems at the exam centre.)



3. Salwars and trousers are suggested for women candidates.



All female aspirants are advised to wear slippers or sandals with low heels as shoes are not allowed in the examination hall.


4. Girls allowed to wear leggings for the NEET exam 2019
