Ranveer Singh Confirmed To Headline Third Installment of The 'Don' Franchise

Mumbai, July 1 - The third installment of director Farhan Akhtar's gangster drama film "Don" has been in the news for a long time now. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani previously confirmed that Farhan has been working on the script and the official announcement will follow once he is done writing it.

"Don 3", however, won't be led by superstar Shah Rukh Khan who backed out from the project after leading the first two installments. It was revealed that the makers approached Ranveer Singh to turn next Don, and now, the latest reports say that he has officially been confirmed on board the movie.

The "Padmaavat" actor is signed on to lead "Don 3" which will be the reboot of the Don franchise. The official announcement of the film with Ranveer's casting is expected to be made on the actor's birthday on July 6, according to Hindi film journalist Rahul Raut.

The shoot of "Don 3" will commence later next year after Ranveer completes Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Baiju Bawra" which is currently in the pre-production stage. Farhan Akhtar will also reportedly headline Aamir Khan's production "Campeones" remake before committing to his next film.

Ranveer Singh, meanwhile, is currently gearing up for the release of Karan Johar's directorial "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani", co-starring Alia Bhatt, on July 28.
