SS Rajamouli Calls Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara' A Big Challange For The Filmmakers

"Kantara's" sensational box office performance has made it one of the most profitable films of all time and by knowing the fact that it was made on a budget of approx. 15 crores, the success becomes ever sweeter. To get such mighty box office numbers on a low budget, "Kantara" was bound to make filmmakers, who make big-budget films, question themselves, and one of them is maverick SS Rajamouli.

During a recent pep-talk at Director's Roundtable 2022 with noted film critic Anupama Chopra, Rajamouli heaped praise on "Kantara" and said that its success has put a lot of pressure on the filmmakers like him. He went on to say that "Kantara" will be a new challenge for directors who make big-budget films.

Rajamouli himself has delivered blockbuster after blockbuster. The filmmaker's "RRR", which was released in March 2022, is still making waves in the West and is now one of the main contenders for the Oscars 2023 nominations. It has already won multiple major international awards.

The "Baahubali" filmmaker will next direct Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu in his next, which he promised to be a globe-trotting action adventure. The shoot for the same will begin in 2023 and it will hit screens in 2024 across the globe.
