Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' Major Box Office Records

Directed by Atlee Kumar, Jawan features Shah Rukh Khan in the double role alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, Eijaz Khan, Aaliyah Qureishi, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya while Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt play cameo roles.

The movie tells the story of a person who sets out to rectify the wrongs in society with help from a group of women. Upon its release on September 7, Jawan received very good reviews from critics while audience word of mouth is equally good which resulted in the massive opening day numbers everywhere.

1. Jawan, with 65 crores net in Hindi, scored the biggest opening ever for Bollywood, beating Pathaan's 55 crores net start.

2. Jawan is the first Bollywood movie to score 60 crores net or more on the opening day. Previous best is Pathaan with 57 crores net on the opening day.

3. Jawan scored the biggest single day collection for a Bollywood movie of all-time. With 74.5 crores net in all languages, it surpassed Pathaan's 3rd day collection of 70.50 crores net in all versions.

4. Jawan scored the biggest opening ever for a Bollywood movie at the worldwide box office with 129.60 crores gross, beating Pathaan's 105 crores gross debut.

5. Jawan scored the biggest opening for an Indian movie of 2023, again beating Pathaan for the same.

6. Jawan scored an all-time record opening in AP-TG, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala for a Bollywood movie.

7. Jawan scored the biggest opening in the dubbed Tamil and Telugu languages for a Bollywood movie.
