Tamil Star Suriya Approached For Dhoom 4?

Mumbai, September 16 - It has been more than a decade since Yash Raj Films' Dhoom 3 was released and despite the official announcement of the next instalment many moons back, there hasn't been any progress towards the same.

Over the last few months, the chatter around Dhoom 4 has been making rounds on social media and there is a buzz that YRF has sped up things regarding the same. It is said that Aditya Chopra is actively working alongside Ayan Mukerji, Vijay Krishna Acharya and Sridhar Raghavan to bring the film sooner than later.
Meanwhile, a new rumour has emerged regarding the casting of the film while we still await the official words from the studio. According to the Deccan Herald, YRF has approached Tamil star Suriya to play the baddie in the fourth instalment of the blockbuster action thriller franchise.



"Makers did approach the star for a role and the negotiations are ongoing but remain in the early stages. It's too soon to confirm anything as Suriya sir is currently tied up with other commitments and fans will hear an official announcement when any progress happens", says the report.



The first three Dhoom films were headlined by a Bollywood cast where John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan played the anti-hero roles, respectively. If the news about Suriya doing Dhoom 4 turns true, it will be the beginning of a new era where a major Bollywood film franchise gets headlined by a non-Bollywood star.



Suriya, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of the much-anticipated Pan India movie, Kanguva. It will be released in November this year.
