The Kashmir Files Hits Double Century At The Worldwide Box Office
Mumbai, March 21 - Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" has hit the double century mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the first Indian film of 2022 to achieve the feet.
Based on the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits, TKF has achieved the box office milestone in just 10 days, which is an extraordinary feat for a low-budget film. The film had scored 97.30 crores net in the first week while the second-weekend collection lent on 70.15 crores (3rd biggest of all-time).
The film was declared tax-free in some of the Indian states which helped the makers to earn more profit. Thanks to government support, the net collection of TKF reached 167.45 crores in just 10 days (194 cr. gross). Overseas, the film has so far grossed approx. 20 crores, pushing the global total to 214 crores.
The Kashmir Files has become the highest-grossing film for Anupam Kher, and Mithun Chakraborty, who played prominent roles in the film, so is for the director Vivek Agnihotri. It also stars Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Darshan Kumar, and Prakash Belawadi in key roles.
Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts, Zee Studio, and Vivek Agnihotri Creates, TKF will cross 200 crores net in the second week, mostly by the second Wednesday. It has been a sensational box office run so far and it is not looking to end anytime soon. It could be the first Indian film since Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer "War" (2019) to reach the 300 crores net mark. The lifetime worldwide total is expected to finish around a massive 400 crores.
