Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Worldwide Theatrical Rights Sold For A Massive Price
Directed by maverick Puri Jagannadh, Liger makers are looking super confident about the outcome of the film. The makers have already been able to fetch a handsome price for the film's worldwide theatrical rights. The overseas theatrical rights of Liger have been bought by Sarigama cinemas for 8 crores, as per reports. This is the highest ever for both Deverakonda and Jagannadh's careers.
The domestic business of this mass entertainer has been valued at approx. 81 crores, including approx. 10 crores in Hindi version. The makers are giving heavy attention to the Hindi promotion and there is already a good buzz has been created among the Hindi audiences. The worldwide pre-release business is around 88 crores with a break-even target is 90 crores.
Liger has simultaneously been shot in Hindi and Telugu languages. It is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Yash Johar, Puri Jagannadh, and Charmme Kaur under the banners of Dharma Productions and Puri Connects. Vijay Deverakonda stars as the titular MMA fighter boxer alongside Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy, and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles. American boxer Mike Tyson plays an extended cameo, making his acting debut in Indian cinema.
Given the track record of Deverakonda's previous films, the worldwide business of Liger is looking too high and it will be interesting to see how it fairs at the box office. The actor, however, delivered a couple of blockbusters which got him a very loyal fan base among the Telugu audiences. He could find himself in the elite league of Telugu stars if he delivers with Liger.
