Korean Kanakaraju Day 2 Box Office Worldwide Gross Reaches Over 12 Crore as Film Maintains Steady Momentum

Korean Kanakaraju has completed its first two days at the box office, showing a steady performance through its opening weekend. The film has reached a total worldwide gross of 12.60 crore so far. This collection is supported by a 9.60 crore gross from the Indian market and an overseas contribution of 3.00 crore. These early results indicate a consistent start for the movie as it continues to find its audience in both domestic and international territories. On Saturday, the movie recorded an India gross collection of 4.77 crore. When looking at the net figures, Day 2 brought in 4.15 crore, which is a marginal 1.2 percent drop from the opening day net of 4.20 crore. This stability in numbers indicates that the audience who enjoyed the early shows is providing decent word-of-mouth, helping the film maintain its pace across 1,741 shows on its second day. The night shows were particularly strong, touching nearly 68 percent occupancy. Geographically, the film is performing best in its home turf of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, which contributed 4.00 crore gross on Saturday. In major cities, Hyderabad saw an overall occupancy of 58.5 percent across 324 shows, while Vizag reported a high of 64.5 percent. Bengaluru also contributed significantly with a 48.3 percent occupancy across 137 shows, resulting in a Karnataka gross of 0.65 crore for the day. Ticket sales data from BookMyShow reflects this steady trend, with approximately 141 thousand tickets sold in the last 24 hours alone, bringing the total platform sales to over 302 thousand tickets. In the national chains—PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis—the movie saw a decent turnout on Saturday. These chains collectively sold about 4.6 thousand tickets, generating a gross of 10.9 lakh. PVR led the chains with a contribution of 5.3 lakh, while INOX added 3.9 lakh and Cinepolis accounted for 1.7 lakh. According to data shared by Venky Box Office, the North America gross for Friday stood at 178 thousand dollars, which includes 90 thousand dollars from premieres. On Saturday, the hourly box office report at 7 PM PST showed the film had already collected 78 thousand dollars from 144 locations. With a total overseas gross of 3.00 crore so far, the film is proving its appeal to the diaspora audience. From a financial perspective, the film was produced on a reported budget of 38 crore, but a significant portion of this—26 crore—was recovered before the theatrical release through non-theatrical revenues. These deals included digital streaming rights, satellite TV, audio, and Hindi dubbing rights. Because of this massive pre-release recovery, the theatrical breakeven target is remarkably low. The film only needs to cross roughly 25 crore to 30 crore in gross box office collections to be classified as a theatrical hit. Given that it has already grossed 12.60 crore worldwide in just two days, it is well on its way to reaching that milestone during its first week.
