'Ponniyin Selvan 2' and 'Agent' Open To Contrasting Responses

Chennai, April 28 - Maverick filmmaker Mani Ratnam's much-awaited period action drama film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 2 has been released in theaters today, and as expected, the movie opened to super positive responses from critics and audiences alike. ## The film, starring an ensemble cast including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala, among others in key roles, had early morning shows due to the huge curiosity among the fans and the early responses indicated that the movie has exceeded the expectations. ## Despite being called slow-paced, the critics and audiences are hailing the intense drama and superlative performances of the lead cast. Mani Ratnam has once again done very well with his excellent direction and given enough scope to each and every key character to show their skills. AR Rahman's music seems to be the cherry on the cake. ## Overall, "PS-II" has been able to deliver what the makers had promised, and just like "PS-I", it should also do well at the box office. ## Quite contrasting to "PS-2", the long-awaited Telugu movie Agent starring Akhil Akkineni and Mammootty opened to forgettable responses from critics who are calling it one of the poorest films of the actors and director Surender Reddy. The audience response is also not encouraging which has made it tough for the movie to survive. ## "Agent" has been in production for the last three years as it got delayed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic. Unlike the response to the movie, the teaser and trailer got a good response which generated decent hype for the movie but the final content couldn't justify the sort of pre-release expectations it had, as per audience response. ## It is not that all is bad for the movie as the performance of Akhil and Mammootty is getting praise, but again, other departments didn't stand out. As per critics' reviews, the movie is let down by the poor writing, direction, and mindless over-the-top action. ## Overall, "Agent" has failed to make the long wait worth it, and it will find tough to get going at the box office. Akhil Akkineni's 'Agent' Scores High Pre-Release Worldwide Theatrical Business

Hyderabad, April 26 - Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni's long-awaited spy action thriller Agent is getting ready to hit the big screen this Friday, April 28. The Pan India movie is directed by Surender Reddy who last directed a movie was Chiranjeevi's "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" in 2019. ## A few months back, "Agent" was one of the most-anticipated Telugu movies of the tier 2 heroes, but, the continued delay in the production hit the hype. However, the trailer and the unique promotional activities have brought the movie into the scene again and it is currently carrying a decent buzz among the moviegoers. ## Meanwhile, the makers have locked the worldwide theatrical business, and irrespective of the buzz around the movie, it has managed to close a high business for a non-superstar movie. Makers Re-confirm The Release Date of Akhil Akkineni's 'Agent'

Hyderabad, April 7 - Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni's spy action thriller film Agent hasn't been postponed contrary to the reports. The movie, directed by Surender Reddy, will be released on April 28, 2023, as scheduled. ## There have been reports in Telugu media stating that "Agent" was still filming and the makers were likely to postpone the release. Pooja Hegde Gives An Major Update On Theatrical Release Of Radhe Shyam, Co-Starring Parbhas

Mumbai, July 23, 2021: Actress Pooja Hegde's hands are full of films that make her one of the busiest actresses in the country. The Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo fame is currently shooting for the multilingual love story "Radhe Shyam", alongside actor Prabhas. Set in Europe of the 1970s, the filming is near completion. ## Radhe Shyam is one of the most anticipated Indian films as it is touted to be a never-seen-before romantic film in Indian cinema. The movie has been in development since October 2018 and the makers have treated fans with only a teaser and first looks posters of Prabhas and Pooja so far. Now, Pooja has given an update regarding the remaining shooting and the release plans by the makers of the film. ## Talking to IANS, the actress said, "We are almost towards the end. We have around a week or 10 days' worth of shoot left and then we will wrap. Once shutters open and things are good to go, the producers will decide when they want to release it I guess". ## This is the first time Pooja Hegde romancing Prabhas and she is excited to be a part of this film. Upcoming South Indian Movies And Their Release Dates

When the theaters were allowed to reopen back in October 2020, it brought a light of hope to the halted cinema exhibition sector which remained shut for almost 7 months starting from March 2020.
