Chennai, August 3 - The buzz surrounding superstar Rajinikanth's highly anticipated gangster action thriller Coolie is reaching a fever pitch as the film nears its grand release on August 14, 2025. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the trailer of Coolie was launched on August 2, featuring a vintage mass-action Rajini avatar. ## As the movie is only 11 days away from hitting the big screen, everyone wants to know when the advance booking will open in India. According to the latest update, the film's pre-sales will open on August 8 in Kerala state, as confirmed by regional distributor HM Associates. Given Rajinikanth’s massive fanbase in the state, exhibitors are preparing for packed shows and potential early sellouts. The rest of India pre-sales are also expected to open around this date. ## Meanwhile, the overseas bookings of Coolie are on a rampage mode, particularly in North America, where it has already crossed the impressive $1 million milestone for the premiere shows with 12 days still left. Mumbai, August 2 - Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films Mahavatar Narsimha is turning out to be a sensational blockbuster and box office phenomenon no one predicted before the release. The epic animated devotional action drama is heading towards 100 crores gross in India. ## The first film in the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe is rewriting history at the Indian box office. It had already become the highest-grossing animated movie in the opening weekend itself, and through the second Friday (8 days), it grossed around 62 crores in India, after taking the opening of just around 2 crores gross. ## Mahavatar Narsimha is expected to gross around 18 crores domestically on its 9th day, the second Saturday, after showing almost a 100% jump from Friday. This pushes the total domestic collection to around 80 crores gross in 9 days. With a big Sunday ahead, the movie is likely to enter the 100 crores gross club by tomorrow itself, which is a monstrous result. ## The Hindi version continues to lead the charge, contributing around 59 crore gross alone in 9 days. Despite being a non-mainstream genre in Indian cinema, Mahavatar Narsimha has received strong traction in both multiplexes and single screens, especially in northern circuits. Bengaluru, August 2 - The box office throws another surprise and brings a major milestone for Kannada cinema, which has had a poor year so far. Actor-producer Raj B. Shetty's comedy drama Su From So has surprised one and all by emerging as a box office blockbuster. ## Directed by J. P. Thuminad, Su From So was released on July 25, and despite the limited expectations, the movie has crossed 30 crores gross collection at the domestic box office and is heading towards the 50 crores mark. It is already the highest-grossing Kannada movie of the year, which also indicates how poorly Kannada films have fared this year. ## While the movie continues to march along, it has become the first original Kannada movie of the year and first since August 2023 to sell 1+ million tickets on the online ticketing platform Book My Show. Los Angeles, August 2 - Superstar Rajinikanth's gangster action thriller film Coolie is less than 2 weeks away from hitting the worldwide theatres. As if the anticipation for the film wasn't already skyrocketing, the makers are set to drop the trailer on August 2, which is expected to take the hype to the next level. ## The advance booking of Coolie is yet to open in India, but it is going strong at the international box office, especially in North America. With still 12 days to go for the release, the film's premiere pre-sales have crossed $900K and are set to cross $1 million by tomorrow. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie will be eyeing all-time record premiere for Tamil movies in North America. The record currently belongs to Rajinikanth's Kabali (2016), which scored $1.92 million. Unlike Coolie, Kabali had a full-day premiere in North America. ## While Coolie is looking to create history, it has massive competition with Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR-fronted War 2, which also has its premiere on the same day. Los Angeles, August 2 - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' next offering Spider-Man: Brand New World has officially kicked off filming on August 1st. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton has been roped in to help with this 4th instalment with Tom Holland as the titular superhero. ## As the shoot of this much-awaited biggie has kicked off, the details about the star cast are also being revealed. According to the report by The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Ruffalo is returning to reprise the role of Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, in the upcoming film. ## Along with Ruffalo, the report also revealed that Michael Mando, known for his work on Better Call Saul, is returning to reprise the role of the Scorpion, the villain character whom he first played in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, which kicked off the Holland-centric Spider-Man movies. ## Earlier, it was revealed that Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role of the vigilante known as the Punisher.
