Mumbai, May 20 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan delighted the fans by announcing his reunion with director Rajkumar Hirani for the biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke, who is known as the father of Indian cinema. The celebrated duo had previously collaborated on the blockbuster films like 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014). ## The actor-director duo of Aamir and Hirani has quietly been developing this project for some years, and now, they are set to take it on the floors by the end of this year. According to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, Aamir and Hirani are targeting April 30, 2027, for the film's release. ## The release date aligns with Phalke's 157th birth anniversary, and the makers aim to deliver an unparalleled cinematic experience chronicling the origins of Indian cinema. Pre-production will reportedly begin in October as the plan is to wrap it up by mid-2026, allowing sufficient time for intensive post-production work, including intricate VFX. ## It is said that Aamir will undergo extensive preparation, including dialect coaching and other forms of specialised training, to accurately portray the role of Dadasaheb Phalke. Mumbai, May 20 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG (Oh My God) has established itself as one of India's most successful film franchises. The series has two films so far, which emerged as big hits at the box office while delivering important messages. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar and director Amit Rai have already started working on OMG 3. It is said that Rai had accompanied Akshay Kumar to Kerala for the last leg of Bhooth Bagla to discuss the third instalment of OMG. ## As per the report, Amit Rai has multiple ideas for the upcoming film, and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. "The duo brainstormed on all the ideas and also discussed possible new routes that could be taken in OMG 3. The intent is to continue with the most loved franchise, and take the third part on floors in 2026", says the report.## The makers understand the huge responsibility on their shoulders, hence, they are in no hurry to just rush through the process of OMG 3. Mumbai, May 19 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn-fronted Raid 2 has topped 200 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming only the second Hindi movie of the year to achieve the feat after Vicky Kaushal-fronted Chhaava. ## Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, the crime drama thriller has grossed approximately 201.50 crores worldwide, including around 177.50 crores in India and 24 crores overseas in 18 days. The film has performed better than expected to emerge as a clean box office hit. ## Raid 2 is the 8th movie of Ajay Devgn to top 200 crores globally, and the first since Singham Again in November 2024. It had already surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross collection of the first movie, Raid, which minted approximately 154 crores gross collection. Overall, Raid 2 is the 6th Indian movie of 2025 to go past 200 crore worldwide. ## Produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 is a sequel to Raid (2018). Set 7 years after the events of the first film, it follows the return of IRS officer Amay Patnaik (Devgn), who tracks another white-collar crime. Kochi, May 19 - Superstar Mohanlal's mega blockbuster Thudarum continues to rewrite history for Malayalam cinema with the record-breaking box office run. It is a back-to-back blockbuster for Lalettan after Empuraan, which is the sequel to Lucifer (2019). ## Thudarum has stunned the Mollywood trade and become the first film to top 100 crores gross collection in Kerala state. Now, it has created a major milestone for the industry, selling the highest number of tickets on the online ticketing platform, BookMyShow. ## Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film has sold approximately 4.35 million tickets (43.5 lakh) on the platform so far, surpassing Manjummel Boys, which sold approximately 42 lakh tickets in its lifetime run on BMS. Overall, Thudarum has sold approximately 80 lakh tickets, including online and offline. ## At the box office, the drama thriller has grossed approximately 223 crores worldwide, including 131.50 crores gross at the Indian box office in 24 days so far. Pictures' supernatural horror thriller film Final Destination Bloodlines surprises at the Indian box office to score one of the biggest opening weekends for the genre with $3+ million in 4 days. ## The sixth instalment in the Final Destination film series, directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, had a mid-week release in India on Thursday. Despite that, the film took a very good opening of $625K (5.35 crores gross), followed by growth on Friday. ## Overall, the film grossed approximately 26 crores ($3 million) in India over the 4-day weekend. With this, it has already become one of the highest-grossing Hollywood horror thriller films in India. Depending on holds during the weekdays, the film has a chance to emerge as the top horror grosser in the country. ## The critically acclaimed film had a record-breaking opening weekend for the franchise at the domestic (North America) and worldwide box office. Mumbai, May 18 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has wrapped up shooting for director Priyadarshan's horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films and Wide Angle Creations. ## Akshay shared a video clip which features him and actress Wamiqa Gabbi while filming for a song and announced the wrap on the film. ## "And that's a wrap on #BhoothBangla! Mumbai, May 18 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has flexed his star power at the Indian box office with his latest blockbuster Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning which has exceeded expectations to score the biggest opening for a non-Marvel and Avatar movie, and one of the biggest for a Hollywood title. ## As per the estimates, the spy action thriller scored approximately 20 crores gross (16.50+ crores net) collection in all versions on its Saturday opening day. With this, it has beaten Oppenheimer (17.25 crores gross) to score the biggest Hollywood opening (excluding superhero and Avatar movies). ## Overall, The Final Reckoning has delivered the 8th biggest opening day for a non-Indian movie, behind Thor: Love and Thunder, which grossed approximately 22 crores. Avengers: Endgame remains the top opener with approximately 65 crores gross, followed by Avatar: The Way of Water (48.50+ crores gross). ## The word of mouth for this Cruise-starrer is positive, which should help to post a big Sunday. Mumbai, May 17 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has locked his next film after the recently released Sikandar, which underperformed at the box office. The actor has been in talks with multiple directors, including Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar, but he has prioritised Apoorva Lakhia's army-based film. ## There have been reports that Salma and Apoorva will team up for the first time for a film about the Galwan Valley clash between India and China. According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the film is based on the novel India's Most Fearless 3, set against the backdrop of the 2020 Galwan Valley Conflict. ## "Apoorva Lakhia and Salman Khan are all set to start shooting for the film from July 2025. It will be shot in Ladakh and Mumbai, over a period of 70 days. It features Salman Khan as an army officer in a full-fledged film for the first time in his career, and he will be joined by 3 other actors from the younger generation", says that report.## Apart from Lakhiya, Salman Khan is also discussing a film with director Kabir Khan, who previously collaborated with the Sultan star for Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Tubelight (2017).
