Mumbai, September 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar teamed up with director Sudha Kongara for the first time for a biographical drama film Sarfira, the remake of Kongara's Soorarai Pottru. The movie was released in July of this year but became a box-office disaster. ## Despite the positive reviews, Sarfira grossed approximately 34 crores at the worldwide box office in its lifetime run. Prabhas' 'Salaar' Hindi OTT Platform and Release Date Revealed

Mumbai, February 9 - Pan India superstar Prabhas' action drama film Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire has officially revealed its digital partner for the Hindi version. The movie, directed by Prashanth Neel, is already streaming on Netflix in the South Indian languages. ## Since the film's Netflix release in South Indian versions, there have been enquiries about the streaming date of the Hindi version. Hombale Films, on Friday (February 9), officially revealed that Salaar Hindi will be coming on Disney Plus Hotstar on February 16. ## Unlike South Indian versions, the Hindi version of Salaar will be streaming after 8 weeks of theatrical release, and this is one of the major reasons Netflix is not the OTT partner of the film for Hindi. Marvel Studios' Disney Plus Series 'Loki' Season 2 and 'Echo' Release Date Locked

Los Angeles, May 17 - Marvel Studios has confirmed the release date of its highly-awaited Disney Plus series Loki - Season 2 along with "Hawkeye" spinoff series Echo.## The Tom Hiddleston-fronted "Loki - Season 2" will debut its premiere episode on October 6, 2023. It will be the first Marvel Studios series that is getting its second season after the highly successful first season, which debuted in 2021. ## Season 2 of Loki, which consists of 6 episodes, will be part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set in an MCU-adjacent world, in which the God of Mischief is a fish out of water when he lands in trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) after absconding with the Tesseract. ## Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have directed the show while Eric Martin serves as head writer and has written all six episodes. Disney's 'Prey' Sets Streaming Date On Hotstar In English And Hindi

Mumbai, September 28 - 20th Century Studios' new film in the Predator franchise, Prey has been announced to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar on October 7. The movie will be released in India two months after its original release on Hulu. ## Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, "Prey" will stream in the original English language along with Hindi in India. The film had the biggest premiere ever on Disney's Hulu platform. Disney Plus Hotstar Announces Adaptation of Epic 'Mahabharata'

Mumbai, September 10 - Disney+ Hotstar, the video streaming platform owned by Walt Disney, has announced the adaptation of the epic Mahabharata at the D23 Expo. A Live Action Disney Plus Series About 'King Kong' Is In Development

Los Angeles, August 24 - Disney Plus reportedly has set a live-action series about the origin of "King Kong". ## According to Variety, the series would be based on the original "King Kong" written by Merian C. Cooper as well as new novelizations by artist Joe DeVito produced in conjunction with Cooper's estate. It would be a serialized drama that would explore Kong's origins as well as the mysteries of his home, Skull Island. ## Variety further reports that Stephany Folsom, who developed the Amazon series "Paper Girls" for television, will write and executive produce the King Kong show with James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett will also executive produce on behalf of Atomic Monster along with Dannie Festa for World Builder Entertainment.## The original "King Kong" film was released in 1933 and became an instant hit. The character has been used in numerous films to date, most recently in the Legendary-Warner Bros. "Godzilla vs. Kong".
