'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' Tracking To Earn $250+ Million Worldwide In The Opening Weekend

Los Angeles, May 3 - The finale of Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy by director James Gunn is hitting the big screen this Friday (May 5) and the movie is expected to start the summer box office with a bang. ## According to Hollywood trade experts, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is projected to open around $110 million - $120 million in its 3-day domestic (North America) opening weekend. This can be termed as an underwhelming start as "GoTG2" opened at $146 million in 2017. ## While the critics' reviews are decent for the third installment, the poor performance of the recent Marvel movies can be seen affecting the opening of "GoTG3" which is being hailed as the best Marvel movie since "Avengers: Endgame" (2019). ## Internationally, the superhero movie is expected to score around $140 million - $150 million over a 5-day opening weekend. The worldwide opening of the film is projected to be around $250 million - $270 million. It cost over $200 million to make, according to Variety. ## The last few Marvel movies haven't performed to their potential, especially "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", which despite the biggest opening in the "Ant-Man" franchise, ended up as the lowest-grossing film in the series with a worldwide gross collection finishing below $500 million mark. "GoTG3" is expected to bring Marvel back and is carrying the potential to surprise everyone at the box office.## In the film, the Guardians embark on a mission to protect Rocket (Cooper) from the High Evolutionary (Iwuji). It stars an ensemble cast featuring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone.## Stay tuned...

It has been more than half a decade since everyone's favorite cosmic misfits made their mark in the MCU and now, it seems some of them will have to bid goodbye. ## The trailers have already hinted about the sad and emotional ending and now, the early reactions from critics have further confirmed the same. But it is more than that as critics are hailing it as the best MCU film since "Avengers: Endgame" along with being the dark and highly satisfying finale. ## "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" had its European premiere at Disneyland Paris and the critics are sharing their reactions with audiences on social media. The film is gearing up for release on May 5. ## Bradley Cooper will become the first voice actor in history to be nominated for best actor at the Academy Awards. STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL work. Too early to say he’ll win, but he’s a lock for Oscars 2024 nominees This is what movies are made for#GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 pic.twitter.com/GhuX0PhT7k— Atom (@theatomreview) April 22, 2023 ## 🔥 #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 is EMOTIONAL AND EPIC! The action, the soundtrack, the comedy, the tear jerking moments! They’ve hit it out of the park with this beautiful end to James Gunn’s trilogy! It’s also solidified Rocket Raccoon as one of the best characters in the MCU pic.twitter.com/e5YQZwvBYo— Tyrell Charles (@TheoriesByT) April 23, 2023 ## After seeing it twice I can safely say #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 completes the perfect MCU trilogy. It’s heartbreaking and hilarious and I’ve loved this team from the first ooga shaka. A blast for 10 years 👏— Emil Franchi (@emil_franchi) April 22, 2023 ## #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 is, more than ever, Star Wars as a stoner comedy. Lovable weirdos, big Marvel action and goofy jokes. But nothing can prepare you for all the emotions. Rocket Raccoon’s origin story is beautiful and heart-wrenching.— Alexander Kardelo (@dunerfors) April 22, 2023 ## Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is a brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy. It's very funny, emotional and everybody gets their stand-out moment. Will Poulter's Warlock is a terrific addition, yet the focus is rightly on telling a satisfying end for the Guardians. Gonna miss them. pic.twitter.com/ot6L67Q9Cf— Ian Sandwell (@ian_sandwell) April 22, 2023 ## Can confirm that I shed a tear during #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 . And that I would very happily watch an Adam Warlock solo movie. Full review (and interviews with the cast) coming very soon. pic.twitter.com/JqzoybOHQx— Rory Cashin (@roarEcashin) April 22, 2023 ## I already knew #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 was gonna be unreal but streets are saying that not only is it the best GOTG film but the best MCU film since ENDGAME😭😭 pic.twitter.com/DldTsLZCun— Nick Poulimenakos (@NickMenakos) April 23, 2023 ## #GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 is what happens when you give a filmmaker loads of money but not enough creative lube. A thematic mix of Straw Dogs and The Neverending Story, though only half as sexy. Best Marvel picture since the last one. Sadly, it's too woke for its own good.7/10 pic.twitter.com/160VEZ0ZId— Killers of the Flower Mitch (@fleMitchfilm) April 23, 2023 ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, April 13 - Marvel Studios' next blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy 3 hitting theaters in less than a month. The highly-anticipated flick marks the finale of filmmaker James Gunn's trilogy and it will be the last Marvel movie for Gunn who is now the co-head at DC Studio.## Ahead of the release, the early box office projection for the film has been revealed and there are not as big as fans would have thought. This might also be because the previous Marvel movies weren't up to the standard the studio has set over the years and has been the most successful in terms of box office earnings in the world.## According to Box Office Pro, GoTG3 is projected to take a $120 million - $155 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend and the lifetime domestic gross is expected to finish between $288 million - $403 million. ## As of now, the movie is poised to open (if opens to a lower projection) below Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which took the opening of $146.5 million and finished its run at $389 million domestically. The first Guardians film banked $94.3 million domestically in its first weekend and $333.7 million by the end of its run. ## GoTG3 will be the second Marvel release in 2023 after Ant-Man 3 which opened to a solid $106 million over the three-day weekend but failed to build upon this opening and will finish below $220 million. If the movie opens to a higher projection ($155 million), it would mean the 4th biggest start for a Marvel title post the covid-19 pandemic. ## Stay tuned...

James Gunn reveals Marvel character who won't be in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3'

Los Angeles, Dec 31 (IANS) Writer-director James Gunn has revealed to fans that Marvel character Rom the Space Knight won't be appearing in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', because Marvel no longer holds the rights to the character. ## A fan wrote on Twitter: "@JamesGunn please make this dream come true! Bring this to the MCU, even if it's just an Easter-Egg on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3." ## Gunn replied: "Alas I cannot as Marvel no longer holds the rights to Rom - just to some other Spaceknights and parts of the story created in the comics - otherwise, believe you me, ol' toaster head would probably be in the Guardians by now." ## 'Expendables' star Terry Crews was particularly disappointed by the news. ## He tweeted: "Damn! I loved the ROM series...!" ## In July, Gunn shared 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' had "basically been finished for years". ## He said: "It's basically been finished for years. I keep fiddling with different things and adding things, and figuring out permutations and stuff - I'm in the middle of doing another draft now - but it's really small stuff in comparison to what it has been. ## "It's basically been finished since three years ago. The only time they (Marvel) ever (asked me to include something for future MCU movies) was on the first movie with Thanos, putting Thanos in there. Which they wanted me to do. But besides that they've never done that. ## "I know that the characters have been through certain things, so I have to deal with that stuff. But for the most part, they never once asked me to put anything in the script for 'Volume 3' to set up anything in the future. Nor would I do it, frankly, it's not really my thing," he added. ## Stay tuned.
