Netflix Top 10: Guns and Gulaabs Crosses 20 Million; Adipurush Hits 15 Million Viewing Hours

Mumbai, August 30 - Director duo Raj&DK's latest web series Guns and Gulaabs has crossed 20 million viewing hours on Netflix in the first 10 days. The black comedy crime thriller stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, Goutam Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Sanchay Goswami, Gulshan Devaiah, Pooja Gor, and Shreya Dhanwanthary, among other in prominent roles.## "Guns and Gulaabs" debuted August 18 on Netflix and scored 8.1 million viewing hours from 1.3 million views in the opening weekend (August 18-20), and was the 8th most-watched non-English show globally. During the week of August 21-27, the series generated 13.3 million viewing hours from 2.2 million views and was the 7th most-watched title globally.## The total viewing hours of the series are 21.4 million from just 3.5 million views. The reviews from the critics are mixed while audience score is 78% on IMDb which can be seen as decent. Set in the 90s world of crime and violence, it depicts the story of love and innocence blending with humour and romance.## Meanwhile, Prabhas-fronted Adipurush (Hindi) has crossed 15 million views in the first 17 days of its release on Netflix. The movie scored 12.7 million viewing hours from 4.3 million views in the first 10 days (August 11-20). During the week of August 21-27, it scored 2.6 million viewing hours from 900K views, which takes the total watch time of the movie to 15.3 million from 5.2 million views.## Directed by Om Raut, the film is based on the epic Ramayana. It was originally released theatrically on June 16 and met with horrible reviews from critics while audience reception was also negative. Weekend Box Office: Marathi Film 'Pawankhind' Scored Big; 'Badhaai Do' Showed Growth

Mumbai, February 21 - The Indian Marathi cinema has been on a roll for the last few months with back-to-back box office success. After earning hit status with films like Jhimma, and Pandu, the recently released Marathi movies, "Lochya Zaala Re", and "Pawankhind" are putting strong show at the box office. ## Pawankhind, directed by Digpal Lanjekar, is particularly has created riots at the box office and become another Marathi success story. Released on February 18, the historical drama kept mounting over the weekend after taking a start of over Rs. 1 crore. After Rs. 1.15 crore on Friday, the film showed a jump of 80% for Rs. 2.08 crores on Saturday and later closed the weekend with Rs. 2.80 crore (+34%) on Sunday, taking a 3-day total to Rs. 6.08 crores. ## Based on the life of Maratha warrior, Baji Prabhu Deshpande, "Pawankhind" has done very well in the B and C centers where it recorded Housefull shows at the single screens. The first-week collection of Chinmay Mandlekar-starrer is eyeing to finish over Rs. 10 crores, which will be a phenomenal result for the makers. The budget for the film is in the range of Rs. 7-10 crores. ## Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar-fronted social comedy-drama "Badhaai Do" showed an upward trend over the second weekend. After collecting Rs. 75 lakh on the second Friday, the Harshavardhan Kulkarni-directed jumped by 105% on the second Saturday for Rs. 1.54 crores, followed by a 29.87% jump on the second Sunday for Rs. 2 crores. The total 10-days domestic collection of "Badhaai Do" stands at Rs. 16.89 crores. Overseas, the film has grossed approx. 3 crores so far. ## Serving as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 film "Badhaai Ho", "Badhaai Do" revolves around a couple in a lavender marriage. The movie received positive reviews from critics, praising the performances of the lead cast, direction, and theme. Taapsee Pannu - Gulshan Devaiah To Lead The Hindi Remake Of Spanish Horror Thriller, Julia's Eyes!

Mumbai, July 5, 2021: Actress Taapsee Pannu is on the film signing spree. She already has several films in the pipeline across languages in form of Dobaaraa, Looop Lapeta, Annabelle Subramaniam, Shabaash Mithu, among others. The Thappad actress has reportadly signed one more film recently with BA Pass and Section 375 director Ajay Bahl. ## While the official confirmation is yet to be made, Taapsee's film with Bahl is said to be a Hindi remake of the 2010 Spanish horror thriller, Julia's Eyes, directed by Guillem Morales. Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota actor Gulshan Devaiah has also been roped in to play one of the male leads in the film that is expected to roll out from 20th July in Nainital. ## According to reports, Taapsee will be stepping into the shoes of Belen Rueda and play a visually impaired twin sister in this mystery drama while the details of Gulshan's character have been kept under wraps. Ajay Bahl is re-writing the script with other writers keeping the Indian audience in mind, and they said to make some changes in the script. ## Taapsee will reportadly be playing the role of a woman who's suffering from degenerative eye disease in this yet-untitled thriller. Defined as a fascinating, broken-backed picture full of riveting twists and dubious psychology, the film tells the story of a woman who's slowly losing her sight whilst trying to investigate the mysterious death of her twin sister. ## Producer Pranjal Khandhdiya (Mango Purple Media Network) who's backing Taapsee's upcoming sports drama Rashmi Rocket will be producing it in association with Zee Studios. Mumbai, March 3 (IANS) Actor Gulshan Devaiah says he decided to do the short film 'Sleepwalkers' because it came with an opportunity to work with Radhika Apte and Shahana Goswami. ## "Sleepwalkers" marks the directorial debut of Radhika Apte, and the actress has also scripted it. The film is produced by Abhisekh Chaubey, Honey Trehan and Lalit Sharma. ## "I generally prefer working on long formats such as features or a series but it was impossible for me to pass because it's my dear friend Radhika's directorial debut and also an opportunity for me to work with Shahana Goswami, whose work I greatly admired," Gulshan said. ## For Gulshan, "Sleepwalkers" is a commentary on society, class, nature, lack of balance and greed. ## "The shoot was a challenging schedule but it was well worth my while as it was a very satisfying experience to work with Radhika and Shahana. My on-screen chemistry with Shahana is so good and I'm now greedy to do more work with her. Without giving too much away, ‘Sleepwalkers' is a commentary on society, class, nature, lack of balance and greed. Perhaps it's more than these but this is my understanding from having worked in it.
