Box Office: Shehzada and Ant-Man 3 Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 18 - Kartik Aaryan's action comedy Shehzada has had a decent start at the box office, scoring 6 crores net. The movie, however, needed a big boost on its second day for a respectable opening weekend but there wasn't much of growth in the biz. ## As per the early estimates, the Rohit Dhawan-directed flick collects around 7 crores net. There might be a few lakhs here and there but the big growth wasn't visible at all. The total collection of Shehzada is approx. 13 crores after the two days and the 3-day weekend is looking at around 20 crores. ## Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, on the other hand, has had a good opening with approx. 9 crores net. Mumbai, February 18 - Yash Raj Films is back in form with Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Pathaan" which is running riot at the box office. The studio is now developing more films in its ambitious spy universe which is the biggest superstar of the Bollywood film industry. ## YRF already has Salman Khan's "Tiger 3" in the post-production work, scheduled for Diwali 2023 release. The studio also working on the biggest film of it yet with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan coming together. However, the letter might take some time to get off the ground. ## Now, according to Peepingmoon.com, the next film in the spy universe after "Tiger 3" will be Hrithik Roshan-fronted "War 2". 'Shehzada' And 'Ant-Man 3' Opening Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 17 - Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's Shehzada is heading towards a decent opening day at the box office. As per the early estimates, the action comedy has scored around 7 crores net which might go a little higher depending on the night shows. ## Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Shezada had low pre-sales, however, the spot booking was reasonably better which saves the day for the film. Plus, a holiday on Saturday in the form of Mahashivratri also ensures better night shows. The word of mouth is mixed for the film. ## The advance booking for tomorrow is a little better than the opening day, however, there isn't much growth which could mean a decent opening weekend. Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada' Opening Day Box Office Projection

Mumbai, February 16 - After the blockbuster start of the year with Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", all eyes are now on Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's "Shehzada" which releases on February 17. Kartik is returning to the big screen after delivering the biggest hit of his career in the form of "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2". ## "Shehzada", which is the remake of the Telugu movie "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo", is directed by Rohit Dhawan whose last directorial was "Dishoom" (2016). "Shehzada" has been carrying a decent buzz, however, the advance booking which opened this week is really poor and doesn't give much hope as far as the opening of the film is concerned. ## The action comedy film will have a wide release on over 3000 screens across the country. As of 1 PM on February 16, "Shehzada" has sold approx. 22K tickets, including approx. 12K tix at three national chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) for the opening day. It is one of the lowest counts of advance tickets post the covid-19 pandemic for a well-known Bollywood actor. ## Kartik's last movie "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" had clocked approx. 6.50 crores gross in advance sales for the opening day and the movie opened at 14.11 crores net which was the second biggest opening post-pandemic for a Bollywood title at that time.## "Shehzada", considering its pre-sales as of now, is looking like a 5-7 crores net starter. As has been the case in the last couple of years, the film will heavily depend on spot bookings and positive word of mouth. The opening, however, can see a boost due to the Mahashivrati holiday the next day (Feb. 18). But, despite all the aspects, "Shehzada" doesn't seem like scoring more than 8 crores unless it gets extremely positive WOM.## Though "Shezada" is a family-friendly film, it is not a front-loaded one, so the makers will be hoping it gets positive reception from critics and audiences. The movie scored approx. 499 crores net through the 3rd Tuesday in all versions, and at the time of penning this piece, it has breached Rs. 5 billion mark. ## The Hindi version of "Pathaan" has earned approx. 482 crores net through 3rd Tuesday (21 days). Pathaan Third Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 10 - Pathaan is heading towards another good day at the box office going by the early estimate figures which suggest around 5 crores net mark on its third Friday. The hold once again has given a chance to the film to cross the collections of Bahubali: The Conclusion.## The third Friday collections will take the total tally of Pathaan to around 464cr net box office mark and now the film needs just another 50cr collection to emerge as the highest-grossing film in the Hindi language beating Bahubali: The Conclusion. ## There will be a growth in the collections tomorrow as it is a Saturday when multiplexes see huge walk-ins while single screens will see it's the best day on Sunday. Pathaan Outscores RRR To Become The Second Biggest Indian Grosser In North America

Los Angeles, February 10 - Shah Rukh Khan-fronted blockbuster "Pathaan" has become the second highest-grossing Indian film in North America, which is one of the biggest international movie markets for Indian titles. ## The spy action thriller, directed by Siddharth Anand, has grossed approx. $14.95 million (123 crores) in 16 days so far at the North American box office. It has outscored SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster "RRR" which has grossed $14.90 million and become the all-time second-biggest Indian and biggest Bollywood movie there. ## Rajamouli's "Baahubali The Conclusion" is currently the number one Indian title in North America with approx. $22 million. "Pathaan" will most likely finish around $17 million though it has a chance to beat "Baahubali 2" in admissions. ## Among the top 5 biggest Indian movies there, Aamir Khan's "Dangal" is at number 4 with approx. $12.40 million, followed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Padmaavat" at 5 with approx. $12.17 million.## Meanwhile, the Yash Raj Films' production is nearing 900 crores at the global box office. Ajay Devgn's Long-Awaited Sports Biopic 'Maidaan' To Be Postponed Again?

Mumbai, February 10 - It seems there is no easy way to get out of jail for Ajay Devgn-fronted "Maidaan". The long-awaited biographical sports drama film is getting difficulties in its release which has led to multiple delays over the last year or so. The movie was supposed to release in February this year, however, the makers recently announced its postponement to May 12, 2023, release. ## Now, according to the latest reports, the Amit Sharma-directed flick has been pushed again to June this year. Bollywood Hungama reports that "Maidaan" has been shifted to June 23 release, which is still a complex date to bring the film to the big screen. ## June 2023 is already flooded with two tentpole titles, "Jawan" (June 2) and "Adipurush" (June 16). The news about the postponement of "Maidaan" is not yet confirmed by the makers so it is possible that they stick to May 12 release which may give it a smooth run for 2-3 weeks compared to June where it will have to meet the bigger titles at the box office. ## Produced by Bayview Projects, and Zee Studios, "Maidaan" is based on the golden era of Indian football (1952–1962). Pathaan Third Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 9 - Pathaan is continuing with its steady run at the box office as the early estimate collections suggest 5.50-6 crores net on its third Thursday which is around a 10-12% drop from yesterday's collections. Even yesterday the film had shown a similar drop.## The third Thursday collections will take the total collections of Pathaan to around 459cr net box office mark as per early estimates. Pathaan has another free week and the first sign of competition will arrive the next week with Shehzada. Overall the job has been done and Pathaan has emerged as one of the biggest box-office hits of the last 15 years. ## The overseas numbers are never seen before as the film is heading for close to the 50 million mark. Rajkumar Hirani To Direct Cricketer Lala Amarnath's Biopic After Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki'

Mumbai, February 9 - Blockbuster Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani is currently working on the comedy-drama "Dunki", starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. Pathaan Third Wednesday Early Estimates; Crosses 450 Crores Mark

Mumbai, February 8 - Pathaan continues to hold well after a fantastic second weekend where it emerged as one of the biggest second weekends ever. As per the early estimates, the movie scored around 6.50-7 crores net on its third Wednesday. ## The film is showing a drop of around 10-12% daily which is a good sign. The ticket rates of the film are now more to regular levels and hence the collections are looking good only but with the same pricing as on weekends, the collections would have been excellent. The ticket rates should have been kept on the higher side as it would have helped the film to cross the Bahubali2 numbers which are still possible but not easy. ## The third Wednesday collections will take the total collections of Pathaan to around 453Cr net box office mark becoming the only Bollywood film in history to cross this landmark. The film needs around 50Cr to join the 500cr mark which will make it one of the biggest blockbusters of the last 15 years and 60cr to emerge as the highest-grossing film ever in Hindi languages. ## Pathaan has a free run of another week or so and this has proved to be a huge plus for the film. There should be higher footfalls in the next couple of days for Pathaan due to valentine's week which although is not an official holiday but multiplexes do see higher walk-ins.
