Box Office: Liger First Saturday Early Estimates (All Languages)

Mumbai, August 27 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama Liger collets in the similar range as Friday on its first Saturday at the domestic box office, scoring an estimated 7.50-8.50 crores net for all languages. The Puri Jagannadh could have dropped further but got the benefit of tomorrow being a Sunday. The Hindi version once again collects more than the Telugu's with an estimated 4.50-5 crores net. The Telugu version also remains in the same range and collects an estimated 2.50-3 crores net. The total net collection of the film is approx. 31 crores, including Saturday, for all languages. "Liger" was needed to jump big on Saturday but that doesn't happen. Unless the Hindi version really turns the tide, the lifetime collection of the film could be wrapped up under 65 crores net. Box Office: Karthikeya 2 Overtakes Radhe Shyam In Hindi

Mumbai, August 26 - Actor Nikhil Siddhartha's blockbuster Karthikeya 2 has surpassed Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Radhe Shyam's lifetime collection in Hindi languages. Radhe Shyam, which was released earlier in March this year, couldn't do justice to Prabhas' stardom in the Hindi version and ended up collecting only approx. 19.50 crores net. ## "Karthikeya 2", which opened to nothing numbers of just 7 lakh but grow significantly with each passing day after getting excellent reviews and super positive word of mouth. It scored 5.75 crores net in the opening week, followed by 13.52 crores (+235%) net in the second week. The total Hindi collection of the movie after 14 days reached 20.11 crores.## There is no comparison between Radhe Shyam and Karthikeya 2 as the Prabhas-starrer movie was made on a huge budget and scale against K2, which has been made at a fraction of the budget of RS. However, it was the content, where Radhe Shyam fell flat whereas Karthikey 2 has been hailed as one of the best Telugu films of the year, resulting in, it also making huge noise in the dubbed Hindi version as well. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and T.G.Vishwa Prasad, "Karthikeya 2" is following the trend of Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" in the Hindi version. While Pushpa's lifetime Hindi collection is way out of reach for Karthikeya 2, it still can end up with an excellent lifetime collection. ## "Karthikeya 2" has had a good run at the USA box office so far with over $1 million gross. Mumbai, August 26 - The horror has come alive as Vijay Deverakonda's Liger falls massively on the second day itself after taking a record but underwhelming start upon its Thursday release in Telugu version. The Puri Jagannadh-directed sports action drama film scored 15.5 crores net on the first day, including 13.80 crores in Telugu. On its first Friday (2nd day), the movie scored an estimated 6-8 crores net for all languages. The only saving moment of the day for the movie is that the Hindi version starts well and scores an estimated 3.50-4 crores net today, which is technically its first day. The total Hindi collection including Thursday previews is around 5 crores net. Liger will need miracles to cover the lost ground in the remaining two days of the opening weekend. The Hindi version may give some relief, however, that won't be easy as word of mouth is negative. Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur's Blockbuster 'Sita Ramam' To Release In Hindi On September 2

Mumbai, August 26 - The recent Telugu blockbuster, Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna, is getting ready for Hindi release in theaters on September 2, 2022. ## The Hanu Raghvapudi-directed period romantic drama has been a true box office blockbuster from Tollywood this year. Set in 1964, Lieutenant Ram, an orphan army officer serving at the Kashmir border, gets anonymous love letters from Sita Mahalakshmi. Box Office: Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Underperformed Despite Record Opening

Hyderabad, August 26 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama Liger was released in theaters yesterday (August 25) and it was a day of mixed feelings for the makers. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh, "Liger" opened to record-breaking (as expected) box office numbers for a tier-2 Telugu film, but at the same time, the makers must be preparing themselves for what they are going to get in the future, at least for the most important Telugu version. ## "Liger", which had a very good pre-release buzz, remained underwhelming despite taking the biggest opening for Vijay Deverakonda with an AP/TG share collection of 9.14 crores, worldwide is approx. 24 crores. ## Puri Jagannadh described the movie as his best project to date, however, upon its release, the film got very poor reviews from critics while the audience's word of mouth is also not so encouraging which is clearly visible in the opening day numbers that were expected to be around at least 35 crores worldwide. ## The future of this Pan India film is looking blink, especially knowing the fact that the stakes involved in it are high. "Liger" has been valued at approx. 90 crores worldwide, but going the current trend, the stakeholders will be hoping for miracles to happen to recover even 50% of the total investment. ## It's not all doom and gloom for "Liger" as of now as other versions, including Hindi, will get the full-fledged release from August 26 onwards. Hyderabad, August 25 - The movie of the day, Vijay Deverakonda's Liger is off to a flying start at the box office, taking a career-best opening for the actor. Going by the early estimates, the Puri Jagannadh-directed film has grossed 25-27 crores for all languages, including an estimated 13-15 crores AP/TG share the collection on the first day. Hyderabad, August 23 - The Telugu film industry has delivered three blockbusters in the month of August 2022 in the form of Sita Ramam, Bimbisara, and Karthikeya 2. This is probably the first time in many years that the Telugu industry has delivered three big blockbusters at the box office. ## The three aforementioned films have crossed 200 crores at the worldwide box office, the first time for Telugu movies since May this year when Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata" was released. Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Joins The League of 'Sahoo' And 'Sarkarku Vaari Paata'

Hyderabad, August 19 - Telugu heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey-starrer much-awaited sports action drama film Liger is getting ready for worldwide release on August 25. The Pan India film is directed by Puri Jagannadh who has called it the best work of him to date. ## Meanwhile, ahead of the film's theatrical release, "Liger" gets support from Twitter as emojis for the movie have been activated on the social media platform for three hashtags - #Liger, #LigerHuntBegins, and #WaatLagaDenge. ## "Liger" is reportedly only the third Telugu movie to get Twitter emojis. Earlier, superstar Prabhas-fronted "Saaho" and recently released "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", starring superstar Mahesh Babu, honored with emojis on the platform. It is not that Twitter emojis work wonders for films but surely help them to create more buzz and hype around them. ## Produced by Dharma Productions and Puri Connects, "Liger" has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu language and will also release in dubbed versions in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
