Mumbai, July 9 - The half of the year has been completed, and IMDb has unveiled the list of the top 10 most popular Indian movies of 2025 so far. The list includes films released between January 1, 2025 and July 1, 2025, that have an average IMDb user rating of 6 or higher with at least 10,000 votes. ## Determined by the actual page views of the more than 250 million monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide, all the top 10 popular films had a theatrical release. Of the top 10 titles, six are Bollywood films, followed by three Tamil films, and one Malayalam movie. ## 1. Chhaava (Hindi) - Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, the historical action drama features Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna in the leading roles. It is currently the highest-grossing Indian film with over 800 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. ## 2. Dragon (Tamil) - Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and starring Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudev Menon, Dragon is a coming-of-age comedy-drama released on February 21, 2025. Varun Dhawan And Sharvari Wagh To Headline Maddock Films' 'Luka Chuppi 2'

Mumbai, May 23 - Producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films is turning 2019's hit rom-com Luka Chuppi into a franchise and has put its sequel under development with a new leading cast, replacing Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon from the original movie. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, Maddock has roped in Varun Dhawan and Sharvari Wagh to headline Luka Chuppi 2. Both actors have reportedly given their preliminary approval and are expected to formally sign on once the script is finalised in the coming months. ## The report further said that the sequel will be different from the original movie, with a supernatural twist in its comedic narrative. It will retain the humorous tone but will have an entirely different storyline from the first movie, which was centred on a couple navigating a live-in relationship complicated by the arrival of their traditional families. ## While the director's name is not revealed yet, Luka Chuppi 2 will reportedly be directed by one of the associates of Laxman Utekar who directed the first film. The upcoming film will mark Varun and Sharvari's first film together, although they both are part of Maddock's Horror Comedy universe. ## The shoot of Luka Chuppi 2 is expected to begin early next year after Varun and Sharvari wrap up their current commitments. A Massive Piracy Attack On Vicky Kaushal's Box Office Blockbuster 'Chhaava'

Mumbai, March 21 - Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama Chhaava is doing excellent business at the box office. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Chhaava is already the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with a worldwide collection of around 775 crores gross. ## Chhaava is currently running in its 6th week and nearing 800 crores gross collection. The movie will run in theatres for a minimum of 8 weeks before it is made available on OTT, however, even before the deadline, it has been hit by massive piracy and the investigation has begun for the same. ## According to the reports, Chhaava's HD prints have been leaked online and the Mumbai Police is said to have registered a case in this matter. The movie was deliberately leaked online through pirated sites on more than 1800 digital links. This isn't the first time a Bollywood film has leaked before its official digital release as there have been many such cases in the past. ## It is said that producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films anticipated this illegal activity and reportedly hired an anti-piracy agency to handle this matter legally. The South Cyber ​​Cell has reportedly registered a case under sections 316 (2) and 308 (3) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS), sections 51, 63 and 65 (A) of the Copyright Act, sections 43 and 66 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.## Chhaava is directed by Laxman Utekar and it stars Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb.
