Allu Arjun Creates History At The 69th National Film Awards

New Delhi, August 24 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has created history by becoming the first-ever actor from the Telugu industry to win the Best Actor National award at the 69th National Film Awards. The actor won this prestigious honor for his performance in 2021's movie "Pushpa - The Rise".## Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa - The Rise" won two National awards, including the Best Music Director (songs) by Devi Sri Prasad. Overall, the Telugu film industry claimed 10 National awards, led by SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster film "RRR" with 6 awards.## Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon jointly announced the winners of the Best Actress award for "Gangubali Kathiawadi" and "Mimi", respectively. Kriti Sanon: 'Mimi' was a journey of self-discovery for me as an actor

Mumbai, March 12 (IANS) Actress Kriti Sanon says playing a surrogate mother in the upcoming film 'Mimi' was a journey of self-discovery for her as an actor.## "I had a really nice experience shooting for the film. In fact, I feel this is one of the most beautiful scripts I have read. Sometimes, it happens that certain scenes of a film look really good on paper but you are not able to execute them when you are shooting, and vice versa. But in this film that wasn't the case," said Kriti, at a promotional event on Wednesday in Mumbai.## The actress, who recently wrapped up shooting for the film, added: "If we shot this film as effectively as it looked on paper, credit goes to the whole team and especially (director) Laxman Utekar. This is my second film with him (after 'Lukka Chuppi'). We haven't explored the topic of surrogacy in our films. I like the fact that he (Utekar) has the ability to make an entertaining and humorous film out of a serious topic. I feel it is really important to do that because you are not making a documentary."## The film made Kriti realize how she can function as an actor. "Last (shooting) schedule was satisfying for me as an actor almost like a self-discovery. It made me realize how I can function as an actor. There were a lot of emotional scenes that are almost an experience when you are doing them. So, I can't wait for the audience to actually see this film because it is very close to my heart, no matter what the result is," she said.## "Mimi" is directed by Laxman Utekar and is a remake of the National Award-winning 2011 Marathi film "Mala Aai Vhhaychay!". Mumbai, March 5 (IANS) Actress Kriti Sanon has finished shooting for 'Mimi', the upcoming heroine-centric film where she essays a surrogate mother.## Kriti on Thursday took to Instagram and posted a lengthy note, thanking the crew and cast for making a "beautiful film".## "#Mimi has been such an experience!! The most satisfying schedule ever with a super passionate and hardworking cast and crew!! Kriti recalls 'Luka Chuppi' memories on 'Mimi' set

Mumbai, March 1 (IANS) As 'Luka Chuppi' completed one year of its release on Sunday, actress Kriti Sanon went down memory lane with director Laxman Utekar on the sets of her upcoming film "Mimi".## "It's so nostalgic to be shooting with Laxman Sir and Maddock films on the day 'Luka Chuppi' released for another super special film 'Mimi'. 'Luka Chuppi' was on the subject of live-in relationship. 'Mimi' on the other hand deals with surrogacy in a unique way," Kriti said.## "Luka Chuppi" also stars Kartik Aaryan. It tells the story of a TV reporter who lives-in with his headstrong intern.## "Mimi" narrates the story of a young aspiring actress who is a dancer in Mandawa and how she ends up being a surrogate for a couple. According to reports, Kriti has put on about 15 kilos to get into the skin of her character.## Inspired by the 2010 Marathi movie "Mala Aai Vhhaychy", "Mimi" also features actors Sai Tamhankar and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles.
