Box Office: Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Bholaa Shankar' Scored Disappointing Opening Weekend Worldwide

Hyderabad, August 14 - The Indian box office created history during the weekend of August 11-13 with all the movies running in theaters currently grossing close to 400 crores. However, in-between raining blockbusters, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's "Bholaa Shankar" disappointed big time and registered a low opening weekend at the domestic as well as global box office.## Directed by Meher Ramesh, "Bholaa Shankar" was expected to continue the winning run for Chiranjeevi after the big blockbuster success of "Waltair Veerayya" earlier this year. But it was not the case as "Bholaa Shankar" recorded one of the lowest weekend collections for the superstar in recent times.## "Bhola Shankar" grossed approx. 36 crores worldwide, including just 5 crores at the overseas box office over the 3-day weekend. Domestically, the movie grossed 31 crores approx., including approx. 21.75 crores share collection in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).## The AK Entertainments and Creative Commercials' production venture needs to gross at least 125 crores worldwide to reach the break-even target, for which, the movie needs a miracle which is not looking to happen. The critics' reviews for the movie were poor though the audience reception was mixed, yet "Bholaa Shankar" is not in a position to bounce back from here on.## There is a big public holiday tomorrow in the form of Independence Day on which the Chiranjeevi-starrer might witness a jump, otherwise, the future is looking bleak for the movie at the box office. ## Stay tuned...

Mega 157: Megastar Chiranjeevi Finalizes His Next Film

Hyderabad, August 13 - Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's latest release "Bholaa Shankar" fails to woo the audiences as it crashed badly on its second day after a decent opening. Directed by Meher Ramesh, the movie will find it difficult to bounce back from hereon and is likely to end up as a big failure.## Meanwhile, Megastar Chiranjeevi has already finalized his next film. The veteran actor has teamed with director Mallidi Vasistha whose last directorial "Bimbisara" was a huge blockbuster. The upcoming project will be Chiranjeevi's 157th film. ## "Mega 157" will be produced by UV Creations and it is touted to be a social fantasy film. Box Office: Mahesh Babu's 'Businessman' Sets All-Time Record

Hyderabad, August 10 - One of the biggest Telugu hits of 2012, "Businessman" starring Mahesh Babu was re-released in cinemas on August 9, 2023, and shattered all the records at the box office. The movie is directed by blockbuster director Puri Jagannadh and it also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj in prominent roles.## "Businessman" has had a decent re-release which is on par with a low-budget Telugu movie as far as showcasing is concerned. However, the opening of the movie is of the level of some mid-range Telugu movies with a gross collection of approx. 5.25 crores worldwide.## In Telugu states, the movie grossed a huge approx. 4.40 crores which is an all-time record for a re-released film. It has beaten Pawan Kalyan's "Kush" which grossed approx. 3.60 crores in AP/TG earlier this year. Jr. NTR's "Simadari" is in third place with approx. 2.90 crores opening day gross.## In the Nizam area, "Businessman" scored a solid approx. 2.50 crores gross, beating Pawan Kalyan's "Kushi" which minted approx. 1.65 crores gross earlier this year. Hyderabad, August 9 - Veteran Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is gearing up his second release of the year in the form of "Bholaa Shankar". The drop on Monday is so bad that it has almost sealed the fate of the movie which needs to score at least 150 crores gross worldwide to break even. ## Directed by Samuthirakani, "Bro" grossed just 4.55 crores domestically on Monday, a sharp huge 77.22% drop from Sunday collection. The total domestic gross collection of the movie stands at approx. 80 crores, including approx. 70 crores in the two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). The AP-TG gross includes approx. 47 crores share collection while the movie need to score approx. 81 crores share to break even which is looking unlikely now.## The overseas collection of "Bro" is approx. 12 crores in 4 days, and allied to the domestic total, the worldwide gross of the movie stands at approx. 92 crores. Tokyo, July 25 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's period action drama film "Rangasthalam" has crossed 1 crore at the Japanese box office after the second weekend. Directed by Sukumar, the movie was released in Japan on July 14, more than 5 years after its original release in 2018.## "Rangasthalam" has taken a decent start in Japan with ¥10.1 million or approx. 60 lakh in the 3-day opening weekend before ending the full week with ¥16.4 million or 95 lakh.
