'Mirzapur' Series To Be Adapted Into Theatrical Film; Cast Details Revealed

Mumbai, October 28 - In a landmark move, Amazon Prime Video's hit crime thriller web series Mirzapur is set to be adapted into a theatrical film. Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment will produce it. ## The series explores power dynamics and the criminal underworld in the heartland of northern India. The theatrical adaptation, set to debut in 2026, is one of the first instances when a major streaming product is being made into a theatrical film. ## The film will feature the return of the show's principal cast, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. Abhishek Banerjee is also confirmed to reprise his role as the Compounder. ## In another significant move, the film will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video only after 8-weeks of theatrical release. Mumbai, July 28 - Amazon Prime Video action crime thriller "Mirzapur" is one of the most loved Indian web shows. The series has had two seasons so far which were huge hits for the streamer and now, the fans are eagerly awaiting for "Mirzapur 3" which is in development. ## "Mirzapur" is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, and Divyenndu Sharma in prominent roles. Now, according to the latest reports, Amazon Prime Video and Excel Entertainment are set to adapt the series into a theatrical venture in the near future.## According to Pinkvilla, "The conversation to make Mirzapur into a film has recently begun among the makers, and are developing an idea that would entertain the audience. Once that is locked, they will get into the logistics. However, it is certain that they do want to present Mirzapur as a movie as well".## Meanwhile, "Mirzapur 3" is currently in development. Mumbai, June 6 - It has been five years since Netflix premiered the neo-noir crime thriller show Sacred Games starring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, and Pankaj Tripathi, among others.## Arguably the most loved Indian Netflix show ever, "Sacred Games" remains the most popular Indian show of all time even after such a long time. IMDb, an online database of information related to the entertainment industry, has unveiled the list of the top 50 most popular Indian web shows of all time, and "Sacred Games" tops the list. ## The series is based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 novel of the same name. 'Sacred Games' or 'Mirzapur': Pankaj Tripathi reveals which needed more research

New Delhi, April 11 (IANS) One of contemporary Bollywood's most talented actors, Pankaj Tripathi, has been outstanding in almost all his roles. Both performances gained a major fan base. Personally, the actor finds it difficult to choose which among the two is his favorite .## "It would be like choosing between two children. Both characters are close to me, both have required a lot of hard work," Pankaj told IANS while cooking a meal amid the 21-day lockdown.## "Both of them have been very challenging. However, for Guruji, I had to research more as I have seen something like Kaleen bhaiya's life in my Purvanchal days. But I would not differentiate as both roles required a lot of hard work," he said.## "Mirzapur" follows the life of Akhandanand Tripathi, or Kaleen bhaiya, a mafia boss played by Pankaj, while in "Sacred Games" he plays the power-hungry spiritual leader "Guruji".## Currently, Pankaj, who is also a professional chef, is getting ample time to spend with his family due to the 21-day lockdown.## He reveals he has been "spending time cooking, and also with wife and kids".## Lately, he has been helping his wife Mridula in making a homemade mask and has also turned into a writer, penning all his thoughts.## Stay tuned...

Ali Fazal: Team 'Mirzapur' is home for me

Mumbai, April 7 (IANS) Actor Ali Fazal is thrilled to reunite with some of the team members of the hit web series "Mirzapur" for a romantic music video.## "The 'Mirzapur' team is home for me, and with (director) Gurmmeet Singh and (director of photography) Sanjay around, this was a reunion for us. Last few years, I have spent so much time working with Guru that we get each other's vibes and cues," said Ali.## The three have reunited for the music video of "Aaj Bhi".## "The direction that Gurmmeet brought in to this is a zone, he and I have never explored together. It was an experience that was truly enjoyable. In the span of 3 minutes, we've told an entire story," he said.## "As an actor, it's hard to pull this off. I have never been so excited about a music video but this song is so genuine. It evokes a feeling that everyone at some point or the other goes through. It's a unique take on unrequited love. There's a certain purity in how it plays out," he added.## For the video, he moved away from his gangster role in "Mirzapur" and turned a romantic hero. Ali woos his on-screen lady love played by Surbhi Jyoti in the music video of the song sung by Vishal Mishra.## Talking about the track, Ali said: "It's the first time that I am working with Surbhi and Vishal. It's been super interesting. I loved interacting with Vishal. He has such a mesmerising voice. He has a soulful singing quality.
