Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph Reunite For A New Film For Aashirvad Cinemas

Kochi, July 13 - The blockbuster action-director duo of Malayalam cinema, superstar Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph are teaming up for a new film, to be produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Ashirwad Cinemas. ## The yet-untitled movie marks the 5th collaboration between Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph after two Drishyam movies, "12th Man" and the upcoming "Ram: Part 1". The shoot of the movie will start in August this year after the completion of "Ram". ## Mohanlal currently has several movies in the pipeline, "Malaikottai Vaaliban", "Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure", "Olavum Theeravum", "Ram: Part 1", "Lucifer 2", and "Vrushabha". Kochi, June 30 - Dulquer Salmaan's "King of Kotha" is easily the most-anticipated Malayalam movie of the year, and as expected, the teaser of the film takes the internet by storm. ## The powerful teaser of "King of Kotha" was launched on June 28 and it presented Dulquer in an out-an-out mass avatar. Kerala Theater Owners Call For A Strike Against Early OTT Releases

Kochi, June 6 - The theater owners in Kerala have decided to take a strong stand against the Mollywood filmmaker for opting for early OTT release of their movies. It has been seen with most of the Malayalam movies that despite the very good run in theaters, producers have opted for early release on digital platforms. ## The latest in the list is the all-time blockbuster "2018" which was released in theaters on May 5 and will be streaming SonyLiv from June 7, less than five weeks after the theatrical release. This has left the theater owners disappointed as this film has been running with packed houses across Kerala state. ## Now, according to the latest development, the theater owners have called for a strike on June 7 and 8 as a protest against early digital releases. This means theaters won't be functioning across the state for the next 2 days. It is said that the Kerala theaters will demand an increase in the OTT window period from 42 days to 90 days.## Meanwhile, theaters that come under FEUOK (Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala) are already reportedly considering not continuing "2018" after its OTT release. It is also revealed that Kerala theatres have started to refund the ticket amounts to those who pre-booked tickets for June 7 and 8. ## It is to be noted that Kerala theater owners have been demanding a suitable OTT release window for the movies for a long time. Mohanlal's 'Monster' Gets Clearance To Release In Bahrain

Kochi, October 18 - A day after the news of the ban on Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's Monster in the entire gulf over LGBTQ content, the Bahrain censor board has reportedly lifted the ban on the movie. ## According to the reports, the Bahrain censor board asked the makers to cut a few scenes in the movie in order to get clearance for the release in the country, to which, the makers agreed to the board's demand and around 13 minutes of the movie have been cut. ## This move has come as a big relief to the makers as Bahrain along with other gulf countries, is the big market for Malayalam movies.
