Superstar Mohanlal To Headline Pan India Film 'Vrushabha'

Kochi, August 27 - Megastar Mohanlal has been cast to headline Malayalam-Telugu bilingual movie Vrushabha, which will also be dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages. ## "Vrushabha" is said to be a high-octane drama revolving around a father-son duo. A Telugu actor will be roped in to play the role of the son and announced for the same will be made soon. Nanda Kishore, who directed the hit Kannada movie "Pogaru", will direct the upcoming Pan India film. ## Produced by Abhishek Vyas of AVS Studios in association with Praveer Singh and Shyam Sunder of First Step Movies, "Vrushabha" will go on floors in May 2023 and will release late in the year. ## Mohanlal took to Twitter and announced the news. Kochi, August 18 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is returning for the second part of his blockbuster film Lucifer. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who marked his directorial debut with this film, will be directing the sequel as well apart from starring in it. ## The makers of the film, on Wednesday officially announced that they had begun work on "Lucifer 2", which has been titled Empuraan. "We are starting the actual process of making the film from today. Mohanlal And Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'Lucifer 2' Is In The Works

Kochi, August 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's blockbuster Lucifer (2019) is getting ready for its sequel. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the political action thriller film is the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Sukumaran also played an extended cameo in the film. ## The talks regarding the sequel have been in place since last year and things are now shaping up quickly. Sukumaran had revealed last year that the sequel was supposed to take place last year itself but they were forced to postpone due to the covid-19 pandemic. Kochi, August 13 - Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed last year that Mohanlal-starrer crime thriller Drishyam 3 is in the works and now, the latest reports say that the movie will be announced soon. ## Jeethu Joseph, after the release of Drishyam 2 in February 2021, confirmed that he discussed the climax of Drishyam 3 with Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor and they liked it. Kerala Police Register Non-Bailable Case Against Actor Dileep

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 9 (JANS) Kerala Police has registered a non-bailable case against Malayalam superstar Dileep, his brother Anoop, his brother-in-law Sooraj and other family members. The case was registered following a revelation by a close friend of the actor and Malayalam movie director Balachandra Kumar.## Dileep was arrested in 2017 and lodged in a prison in a case related to a gang sexually assaulting a front-line heroine of South Indian movies and filming the scenes. Police later tracked the gang to Dileep and the actor was arrested in July 2017 and jailed. After two months in jail, he was released on bail and the trial in the case is on.## Balachandra Kumar who has recently fallen out with Dileep had told Police that the actor is in possession of a few clips of the female actor who was sexually assaulted.## On Sunday Deputy SP of Kerala Police Biju Paulose who was the investigating officer lodged a complaint with the Kerala police stating that Balachandra Kumar has deposed that Dileep while watching a YouTube video at his home of former Aluva Rural district police superintendent, A.V. George said that he would do away with the officer as well as other four officers who were responsible for arresting him.## He, according to the deposition of the director, had said that he would cut and remove the right hand of Superintendent of Police Sudarshan who had allegedly assaulted him during police custody. The director also said that one of the accused had told Dileep that for this he will have to spend Rs 1.5 crore for a gang of rowdies who can be engaged for the job.## The Malayalam Superstar, according to Balachandra Kumar also openly said that Kerala DGP, B. Sandhya, ADGP Sreejith, SPs A.V. George, and S. You cannot just stand somewhere and make movies with that limited knowledge. I am someone who didn't have a lot of exposure before coming into movies. I come from a very conservative family, I started watching movies only after I got into movies. I stand in an industry where my peers are so intelligent and excellent in terms of their knowledge, craft and skills about movies." ## Defining Malayalam cinema as a competitive space, he says: "It is a very competitive Industry because Malayalam cinema is now known everywhere and they are creating content every week which is working out around India. It's a very constructive competition which goes on. ## "When I look upto my peers, I see Dileesh Pothan, Mahesh Narayanan, Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid, Shyam Pushkaran, Lijo Jose Pellissery, for me to be there, it's imperative for me to constantly evolve." ## Breaking down the climax of the film in technical terms, he shares: "For our climax shoot, our action director, Vlad Rimberg conceived the action sequence without much use of ropes, cranes or a lot of props. Noted Malayalam film and TV actor G.K. Pillai dead; he was 97

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 31 (IANS) Malayalam actor G.K.Pillai, who was famous for playing the villain in action films and for performing stunts without using body doubles, passed away on Friday. He was 97 and died because of an age-related illness. ## After spending 13 years in both the Army and the Navy, Pillai retired from the military and launched his illustrious career in Malayalam cinema with the film 'Snehaseema' in 1954. He acted in more than 325 films and later ventured into television, where he was active till two years ago. ## A hugely respected actor, Pillai's baritone voice was his distinguishing feature and it won him many roles and several film awards. He also dabbled in politics and was seen frequently in Congress party circles. ## He is survived by six children. His wife had predeceased him. Chennai, Dec 29 (IANS) Actor Mohanlal on Wednesday released the first look poster of his upcoming Malayalam film 'Bro Daddy' directed by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. ## Taking to social media, Mohanlal said, "Here is the official first look poster of Bro Daddy. Coming Soon." ## The film has a big star cast that includes Meena, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Unni Mukundan, Lalu Alex, Murali Gopy, Kaniha and Soubin Shahir. 'Minnal Murali' teleports to UAE, film's AV montage lights up Ain Dubai

Mumbai, Dec 25 (IANS) The audio-visual montage from Tovino Thomas-starrer 'Minnal Murali' was recently displayed at the Ain Dubai observation wheel. ## Ain Dubai, which is located on Bluewaters Island, is known as the world's largest observation wheel. ## Tovino, who plays the titular superhero in the film, took to his Instagram and shared a video of the same with the film's team enjoying the beam show. He wrote in the caption, "This video is proof that Minnal Murali can take you for a HUGE spin. Veteran filmmaker K.S.Sethumadhavan passes away

Chennai/Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 24 (IANS) Ace film director K.S. Sethumadhavan, winner of 10 national and nine Kerala state film awards, passed away in Chennai on Friday, industry sources said.## Born in Palakkad in 1931, the 90-year-old bid adieu to his film career in the mid 90s after which he led a retired life in Chennai. ## Sethumadhavan began his film career in the late 50s, when he worked as an assistant to the then veterans like L.V. Prasad and Sunder Rao, among others. ## Sethumadhavan became an independent film director in 1960 when he directed a Sinhalese film and there was no looking back. He directed around 70 films, mostly in Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu and the hit Hindi film 'Julie' in 1975. ## Some of his most popular films include 'Odayil Ninnu', 'Daaham', 'Sthanarthi Saramma', 'Koottukudumbam', 'Vazhve Mayam', 'Aranazhika Neram', 'Anubhavangal Palichakal', 'Chattakkari', 'Oppol', 'Marupakkam'. ## Actor Mammootty first worked as a junior artiste in Sethumadhavan's hit film 'Anubhavangal Palichakal' in 1971. Actors Kamal Hassan and Suresh Gopi also made their screen debut under the master craftsman. ## In 2009, he was conferred the J.C. Daniel Award, the highest state award in films for his outstanding career and contribution to the film industry. ## Condoling Sethumadhavan's passing, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the film industry has lost a doyen, whose works have been acclaimed by all and even though he was settled in Chennai, he was always closely associated with the state and maintained a strong link. ## The last rites would be held in Chennai later in the day. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Such Updates.
