Mumbai, February 28 - After lending in the top five most-watched films worldwide in its opening weekend, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's comedy-drama Dunki remained one of the most-watched non-English films on Netflix for the second consecutive week. ## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki scored 11.1 million viewing hours from 4.2 million views during the week of February 19 - February 25 and was the third most-viewed non-English film worldwide. The movie was made available to stream from February 15 and it scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days. ## Dunki has so far scored 24.1 million viewing hours from 9.1 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer in the first 11 days. Additionally, it is trending in the top 10 in 21 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Pakistan. ## Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki witnessed higher viewership than SRK's last movie Jawan which scored 8.9 million views at the same time on Netflix. Mumbai, February 7 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has broken a viewership record on Netflix. The action drama film scored the highest viewership for an Indian movie (direct or indirect) on the streamer in the first 10 days. ## Animal, which premiered on Netflix on January 26, has so far scored 39.3 million viewing hours from 11.7 million views in the first 10 days which is the highest ever for an Indian title. Previously, Yami Gautam-starrer Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (direct release) was the most-watched Indian title on Netflix in the first 10 days with 29 million hours. ## Among the post-theatrical Netflix releases, SS Rajamouli's mega-hit RRR was previously the number-one watched movie at the same time with 25.5 million viewing hours, a number Animal has beaten by a long margin. It scored 20.8 million viewing hours in the opening weekend, followed by 18.5 million in the second week (January 29 - February 4). ## Animal is trending in the top 10 list in 17 countries, including number-one in India, Sri Lanka, UAE, Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Mauritius. Mumbai, January 24 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire scored a decent viewership on its Netflix debut after concluding the box office journey with over 600 crores gross worldwide. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "Salaar: Ceasefire" was made available to watch digitally on 20 January in South Indian languages, 28 days after the theatrical release. In the first two days, the movie scored 4.7 million viewing hours from 1.6 million views. ## It was the third most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of January 15 - January 21. While the numbers are decent, Netflix would have hoped for more considering the film's box-office performance. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film were bagged by Netflix, and as per the latest reports, Animal will be released on January 26 on the streamer in Hindi along with the dubbed versions of Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil languages. ## As reported earlier, Animal is expected to stream on Netflix with an extended runtime of around 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is 8-9 minutes extra from its theatrical runtime. Mumbai, January 17 - Netflix has been on an announcement spree regarding the post-theatrical streaming slate of South Indian films. The streamer recently announced several Telugu films which will stream on its platform after their theatrical run and now, it has announced Tamil titles. ## One of the biggest Tamil films to stream on Netflix after its theatrical release is superstar Ajith Kumar's VidaaMuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. The theatrical release of the film is yet to be announced but it is expected to release either Diwali this year or Sankranthi 2025. It will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. ## Netflix also has Lyca's Indian 2, starring legendary Kamal Haasan and directed by Shankar. A sequel to the 1996 blockbuster "Indian", it is easily one of the Tamil films of the year, scheduled to release during summer. It will be available to stream on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, post its theatrical release. ## Chiyaan Vikram's period action drama Thangalaan, directed by directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, is also grabbed by Netflix. The movie is announced for theatrical release in April 2024. Sony Pictures International Production's debut in Tamil cinema, tentatively titled SK21, also produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is also part of the Netflix lineup. ## Among the other films, Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja directed by Nithilan Saminathan along with Keerthy Suresh-led Passion Film Factory and The Route's Revolver Rita directed by K. The streamer has been putting efforts to make a mark in the Indian digital space and its upcoming South Indian slate is the first major push. ## The biggest film Netflix has acquired is the upcoming Pan India movie Pushpa - The Rule. Starring superstar Allu Arjun, the action drama film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages and it is likely to be available on Netflix after an 8-week theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is another big Telugu Pan India film acquired by Netflix after its theatrical release, which is on April 5. The movie, just like Pushpa 2, is expected to be ready to stream after 8 weeks of the theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, which was released during Christmas 2023 weekend, will also be streaming on Netflix soon. The movie has emerged as a big box office success with a worldwide gross collection of over 600 crores. After debuting at number 1 with 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views, the movie scored 77 million viewing hours from 34 million views in the week of December 25 - December 31, 2023. ## The total viewership of "Rebel Moon" is 131.1 million viewing hours from 57.9 million views in the first 10 days. The numbers are good considering the poor reviews from critics at 24% and the average response from audiences at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.## Starring Sofia Boutella, the film is set in a fictional galaxy ruled by the imperialistic Motherworld, whose military, the Imperium, threatens a farming colony on the moon of Veldt. Kora, a former Imperium soldier, ventures on a quest to recruit warriors from across the galaxy to make a stand against the Imperium before they return to Veldt. ## Meanwhile, the coming-of-age Bollywood drama film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan debuted at number 4 in the non-English category with 6.3 million viewing hours from 2.8 million views in its first weekend. Mumbai, December 24 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action drama Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of all time with its phenomenal run at the worldwide box office.## Animal is one of the lengthiest Indian films ever with a theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 22 minutes. Director Sandeey Vanga has done an amazing job by never letting the film drag for a second despite the long runtime and now, the filmmaker is set to extend the runtime of the movie for its OTT version. ## During a recent interview, Sandeep Vanga said that there is scope for an additional 9-10 minutes which he cut for the film's theatrical release but he will now include those minutes for its digital release.
