Mumbai, June 14 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reunites with his "Rustom" director Tinu Suresh Desai for a rescue thriller film which has been titled The Great Indian Rescue. ## The film is based on a mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 64 miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. It is a detailed adaptation of the incident in which Akshay Kumar plays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill while Parineeti Chopra features as the female lead. ## On Wednesday (June 14), the makers confirmed the release date of "The Great Indian Rescue". Contrary to the rumors, the movie will be released in theaters on October 5, 2023. It will be Akshay's third release of the year, after "Selfiee" and the upcoming social comedy-drama "OMG 2" (Aug. 11). ## "The Great Indian Rescue" is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, and Ajay Kapoor under the banner of Pooja Entertainment. Mumbai, May 12 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar hasn't had much success in the last couple of years, and now, the hopes are pinned on his upcoming films which promise to show his versatility as an actor. ## Before the covid-19 pandemic, Akshay delivered back-to-back hits by portraying real-life characters, and one of his upcoming films falls in a similar genre. It is known to everyone that the Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood is doing the biopic of the late Jaswant Singh Gill, a former additional chief mining engineer.## Gill is renowned for his remarkable rescue operation in 1989, where he saved the lives of 65 workers trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal. It has been reported that the movie was titled "Capsule Gill", however, the makers never confirmed the same and have been keeping mum about it.## Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the movie has been titled The Great Indian Rescue. Mumbai, April 13 - The sequel to Sunny Kaushal, and Radhika Madan-fronted romantic drama Shiddat is reportedly in development with Parineeti Chopra as the leading lady opposite Kaushal. ## Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Shiddat was released in October 2021 on Disney+Hotstar and got an appreciation for its story, songs, and performances. The film was well-received the sequel was imminent which has now been announced. ## Shiddat 2 will be produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and T-Series in association with Jio Studios and it will be released in 2024. Sooraj Barjatya's 'Uunchai' On Course To Become A Rare Bollywood Box Office Hit

Mumbai, November 15 - The proven Bollywood filmmaker, Sooraj Barjatya is once again paving the way for bringing family audiences back to theaters amid the continued disappointment within the film industry with his latest flick Uunchai.## The adventure friendship drama film was released on November 11 on comparatively limited screens of less than 500, however, the makers could have easily booked around 2500 screens. It is Barjatya's tried and tested release formula which has worked wonders in the past.## At a time when many low to mid-budget films are falling drastically, "Uunchai" took the opening of 1.81 crores net, which is not big by Bollywood standards but much better for its release size. Mumbai, October 14 - Ayushmann Khurrana's campus comedy-drama film Doctor G has been released in theaters today along with Parineeti Chopra and Harrdy Sandhu's spy action thriller Code Name: Tiranga and a few other films. ## Going by the initial reaction from the movie-goers and critics, it seems "Doctor G" will be the first choice of the audience over the weekend along with the Kannada movie Kantara, of which the Hindi version has been released today after creating waves in Kannada. ## Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap in her directorial debut, "Doctor G" is being called hilarious while dealing with a complicated subject where Ayushmann plays a gynecologist. Social comedy-drama has always been Ayushmann's strong zone and it looks like he is back in that after a couple of missed opportunities. ## Apart from Ayushmann, the performances of Rakul Preet Sigh, Shefali Shah, and Sheeba Chaddha are getting big recognition. The direction of the movie is also being praised. The only debatable point of the movie, as per the critics' talks, is the second half where the plot of the movie gets off-track, but overall, the film is getting a very good reception. ## "Code Name: Tiranga", directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, is a spy action thriller but the initial response is average to the movie. The movie had created a decent buzz through teaser/trailer, but the critics are calling it a failed attampt in this genre. The performence Parineeti Chopra along with other actors is praiseworthy but the direction by Ribhu Dasgupta is being criticised. The movie is being called a low to average affair, which might make it tough for it going forward. ## On other other hand, "Kantara" Hindi has recieved super positive reviews from critics and it will give a tough fight to "Doctor G", and other movies.
