Rajinikanth's Coolie Shatters Records, Surpasses Ram Charan's Game Changer To Claim 2025's Biggest Opening For An Indian Movie With Advance Booking

Chennai, August 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's gangster action drama Coolie is yet to hit the big screen, and even before that, it has shattered the opening day record for an Indian movie of 2025 at the worldwide box office by beating Ram Charan's Game Changer. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie has smashed over 80+ crores in advance bookings collection with still a day left, for the opening day, which is enough to eclipse Ram Charan's Game Changer, which debuted earlier this year with an 80 crore worldwide opening. ## Coolie has locked in over 35 crore gross in India and more than 45 crore overseas so far for the opening day, marching towards 100 crores advance booking gross at the end of the day. For the opening weekend, the film has already crossed 100 crores bookings, which is the highest of the year and one of the highest of all-time. ## Coolie is produced by Sun Pictures and is set to release on August 14, taking advantage of the extended Independence Day weekend, despite clashing with Yash Raj Films' War 2. Box Office: 'Daaku Maharaaj' Second Day; 'Game Changer' Fourth Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, January 13 - Telugu veteran Nandamuri Balakrishna's action drama Daaku Maharaaj exceeded expectations on its first to score over 30 crores gross at the domestic box office, proving to be the second biggest opener for the actor. ## On the second day, the film is seeing a good hold as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 13-15 crores gross in Telugu states, dropping around 50% from Sunday. Overall, Daaku Maharaj is expected to score 15-17 crores gross collection on Monday. ## Daaku Maharaj's total domestic collection after 2 days is around 45+ crores gross, which is fantastic ahead of the long holiday Pongal period. The movie is likely to storm the box office over the next couple of days and will look to go past the 100 crores gross mark during this period. ## On the other hand, superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has plummeted further on Monday as India gross is expected to be in the range of 10 crores gross, as per estimates. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Third Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 12 - Superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has an underwhelming first weekend at the domestic box office where the movie failed to score any growth on Sunday owing to stiff competition and mixed to negative word of mouth. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer has minted a disappointing around 8 crore gross in Telugu states on Sunday, dropping around 35% from Saturday. In other Southern states, the movie has scored an estimated 3 crore gross. ## The Hindi version is holding well, owing to the better audience reception, and is proving to be the only saving grace for the movie so far. On Sunday, the dubbed version is witnessing a slight jump to collect an estimated 7.50-8 crores net collection. ## Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross 20-21 crores on Sunday with a drop of around 20%. The total domestic collection has crossed 100 crores gross at around 106+ crores. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Second Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 11 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer, which was released on January 10, took a good start at the domestic box office with over 60 crores gross considering the mixed word of mouth, though it failed to meet the expectations. ## On its second day (first Saturday), the Shankar's directorial venture is witnessing a drop of over 50% which is a bit harsh even by the standards of any big Telugu film which tend to drop after the opening day. The word-of-mouth effect can be seen in day 2's collection, especially in South Indian states. ## According to the early estimates, GC is expected to gross around 13-15 crores in Telugu states, dropping over 60% from the opening day. In Karnataka, the film also dropped by around 50% for an estimated 2.25 crores gross, while in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it is expected to gross around 2-2.25 crores on the second day. ## The Hindi version of the film surprised on the first day and it remained the best-performing on Saturday with little to no drop as it minted around 7-7.50 crores net on day 2. Overall, Game Changer is expected to gross in the range of 25-28 crores on Saturday, pushing the total domestic gross to around 86+ crores in 2 days. ## The film has a big couple of days over the Sankranthi festival to score at the box office. Box Office: 'Game Changer' Opening Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 10 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action drama Game Changer has taken a good opening at the domestic box office and surprises in the Hindi version with a better-than-expected start.## The movie scored decent pre-sales and the star power of Ram Charan and his combination with director Shankar made sure it converted to a good start, especially in Telugu states. Despite the mixed reception, the film managed to take the biggest solo opening for RC in all major areas. ## According to the early estimates, Game Changer is expected to gross around 45-50 crores in Telugu states which is a very good start. The previous biggest solo opening of RC in AP/TG was Vinaya Vidheya Rama which grossed around 33 crores back in 2019. ## In Karnataka, GC is estimated to gross 4-5 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Hindi version of the film turns out to be a surprise package as it scored an estimated around 7 crore net which is the biggest for RC other than RRR. ## The overall domestic opening of the film is expected to be in the range of 60-65 crores gross. These are good figures which could have been even stronger if word of mouth was positive. 'Game Changer' Worldwide Pre-Release Theatrical Business Details

Hyderabad, January 9 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan teamed up with maverick director S. Shankar for the first time for a political action thriller Game Changer. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie also stars Kiara Advani and SJ Suryah in prominent roles. ## Game Changer is one of the most anticipated movies, and as expected, it has scored fantastic pre-release theatrical business in all major areas. According to the trade report, the Game Changer theatrical business in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) has been valued at 122 crore. ## The 122 crore AP-TG business includes approximately 43 crores in the Nizam area. The film will need to score around 225 crores gross collection to break even in the home states. Hyderabad, October 12 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller Game Changer has been pushed back to Sankranthi 2025. The film is directed by S. Shankar and stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. ## Game Changer, which commenced filming in October 2021, has been postponed multiple times due to the delay in the shoot. Recently, producer Dil Raju announced at the event that they were eyeing a Christmas 2024 release for the movie but plans have changed again. ## On Saturday (October 12), the makers officially confirmed that Game Changer will now be released on January 10, 2025, during the Sankranthi festival week. The USA premiere will take place on January 9.
