Box Office: Mastaney, RDX, Subhedar, And 3 Ekka Score Excellent Opening Weekend Domestically
Mumbai, August 28 - It was an excellent weekend (August 25-27) at the Indian box office where regional films performed exceptionally well other than the mainstream films. Punjabi period action drama movie "Mastaney", Malayalam action drama "RDX", Marathi historical drama "Subhedar" and Gujarati comedy drama "3 Ekka" were among the big winners with approximately 26 crores net collection.## Mastaney - Directed by Sharan Art and starring Gurpreet Ghuggi, Tarsem Jassar, Simi Chahal, and Rahul Dev, among others, "Mastaney" had huge opening weekend in India. It scored 9.20 crores net in 3-days, which is the second biggest opening weekend for a Punjabi movie this year. Worldwide, the movie minted over 25 crores gross collection which are blockbuster numbers.## RDX: Robert Dony Xavier - RDX is set to emerge as one of the biggest box office success stories of the year. The Malayalam action drama, starring Antony Varghese, Shane Nigam, and Neeraj Madhav, released against a mighty competitor "King of Kotha" on limited screens. After excellent reviews and WOM, the movie witnessed an explosive growth over the weekend to score around 6.25 crores net collection in 3 days. The 4th day collection (Monday) is set to be on part with Sunday collection and it isn't looking to stop anytime soon. ## Subhedar - Yet another Marathi movie on a Maratha warrior that is conquering the box office. After "Baipan Bhaari Deva", Marathi cinema set to get one more blockbuster in the form of "Subhedar" which scored excellent 5.06 crores net collection in the 3-day opening weekend. It scored the biggest opening for a Marathi movie this year with 1.15 crores net before showing healthy jump over the weekend to post very good weekend collections.## 3 Ekka - Gujarati cinema has success here and there over the last couple of years, and "3 Ekka" set to be one of the biggest Gujarati blockbusters ever. Starring Malhar Thakar, Yash Soni, and Mitra Gadhavi, the movie had a fantastic opening weekend with 5.70 crores net collection which is the biggest opening weekend for a Gujarati movie this year. ## Stay tuned...
