The Over-the-top (OTT) platforms have become very popular during the lockdown period in India. During this time, many movies and web series released on different platforms and kept people on the toes in terms of entertainment. ##
However, the fans are waiting for some of the most awaited web series which are making all the noise from quite some time now. Some of the series are in the final stage can be announced any time soon. The makers have also been hinting about the possible release date of their respective series from time to time. ##

1. The Family Man (Season 2) - After the huge success of the season, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. directed series was renewed for 2 more seasons. Filming for season 2 began in November 2019 and was expected to arrive in the middle of the year 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic put a pause in the second season, and now it is expected to arrive in October last this year. ##
It is an Amazon original series which starred Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani in the lead roles in the season 1. Both will be reprising their roles in season 2 along with Sharib Hashmi, Neeraj Madhav, Gul Panag, and others. One of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industry, Samantha Akkineni will be making her digital debut in "The Family Man Season 2" and will definitely increase the exciting level of the fans. ##
2. Mirzapur (Season 2) - It has been a long wait for the second season of Mirzapur. And now, it looks like the wait to going to end soon. Most likely, the season 2 will be coming in October - judging by the recent teasers that Amazon Prime Video has been dropping on its social media channels. On Thursday, it shared a Google Earth video that starts off on a globe-level and then zooms in all the way to the Tripathi household in the real-life Uttar Pradesh city the Amazon series is set in. And then on Friday, Amazon celebrated the support of Mirzapur fans that ended with a glimpse of Guddu (Ali Fazal) followed by the words: "Ab Aa Raha Hai [It's on its way]".##

Mirzapur is an Amazon original crime thriller series produced by Excel Entertainment. Directed by Karan Anshuman, and Gurmmeet Singh, the season 1 of 9 episodes was released on 16 November 2018. The series starred Pankaj Tripathi along with Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Harshita Gaur, Divyendu Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shweta Tripathi, and others. They will be reprising their roles in season 2 as well. ##
3. Aashram - Bobby Deol is making his digital debut with Aashram that is said to be a political satire series. It was recently when the first look and teaser of the series was released. MX Player's original series Aashram is directed by Prakash Jha. Bobby Deol is in the role of a monk in the web series. He is going to play a character whose personality resembles that of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. ##

Apart from Bobby Deol, the web series has Anupriya Goenka as the main female character along with Chandan Roy Sanyal, Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, and Adhyayan Suman in key roles. This web series on OTT will be broadcast on 28 August 2020 on the MX Player platform. ##
4. Naxalbari - Zee5 is bringing a web series called Naxalbari which is a crime thriller web series starring Rajeev Khandelwal, Tina Datta, Sreejita Dey, and Satyadeep Mishra. This upcoming original Zee5 series revolves around an STF agent who goes on a secret mission to uncover the truth behind a Naxal uprising.##

One can assume from the title of this series that it is about the Naxal Movement which started in 1967 from Naxalbari in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Rajeev Khandelwal who is playing the lead role in this crime thriller series recently started the shoot in Goa after a break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Tina Datta is set to maker her digital debut with this series which is expected to release in November. ##
5. Bebaakee - Bebaakee is Zee5's original series which is a story of love, friendship, and brotherhood. This romantic thriller series starring Kushal Tandon, Kruttika Desai, Karan Jotwani, and Ananya Bellos will be streaming on ALTBalaji and Zee5 from August 30. It also stars Suchitra Pillai, Mohit Chauhan, Ananya Khare, and Sameer Malhotra.##
