Maddock Films' 'Bhool Chuk Maaf' Gets A New Theatrical Release Date

Mumbai, May 14 - In another fresh turn of events, Maddock Films' romantic comedy drama Bhool Chuk Maaf is getting back to the theatrical release. The movie is directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios.## Over the last week, the film has been in the news for a couple of reasons. On May 8, the makers announced the Bhool Chuk Maaf's theatrical release, which was May 10, was called off amid the India and Pakistan border tensions and was rescheduled to a direct digital release on Prime Video on May 16. ## However, the decision to send the movie directly on digital invited the legal battle as PVR-Inox sued Maddock, seeking 60 crore in damages for breach of contract and requesting a stay on the film's digital release. Later, the Bombay High Court granted major relief to the theatre chain and stopped the OTT release of the movie. ## Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, the film is back on track for a theatrical release. It is said that the movie will now hit the big screens on May 23. The report further states that while Bollywood films are mandatory to have an 8-week theatrical window, Bhool Chuk Maaf might debut on Prime Video in just two weeks, on June 6, 2025. ## Meanwhile, Maddock Films doesn't have to pay any amount to PVRInox, as the latter has withdrawn the demands of Rs 60 crore from the former. PVR-Inox Sues Maddock Films For Cancelling Theatrical Release of 'Bhool Chuk Maaf'

Mumbai, May 10 - National multiplex theatre chain, PVRINOX, has reportedly sued producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films for cancelling the theatrical release date of its romantic comedy drama Bhool Chuk Maaf at the last minute. ## A day before the film's release on May 9, Maddock Films and Amazon Prime issued a statement stating that the theatrical release of Bhool Chuk Maaf was called off aftermath of the ongoing border conflict between India and Pakistan. The studio announced that the movie would now be released directly on Prime Video on May 9. ## According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, PVR Inox has decided to take legal action against the production house for damages of Rs. 60 crores for non-playability of the movie. While Maddock stated the conflict as the reason behind the decision, the theatre alleged that the decision was taken due to poor advance booking. ## "PVR has submitted their case in the Bombay High Court. The matter became serious as all the contracts were signed, and then suddenly Maddock backed off. Mumbai, December 18 - Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has become the highest-grossing Hindi net grosser and the first to clear 600 crores net collection in Hindi within two weeks since its release on December 5, becoming the biggest blockbuster. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has surpassed the lifetime collection of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror comedy Stree 2 (598 crores net approx.) on its 14th day to become the number 1 movie of all time in Hindi. Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan is at the third palace with 582 crores net collection. ## Pushpa 2 has been on a record-breaking run since the opening day and so far, it has put up a sensational show at the box office. Mumbai, October 27 - The Dussehra weekend Bollywood releases, Alia Bhatt's Jigra and Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri's Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video have underperformed at the box office, particularly the former which has credible names attached to it. ## It has been a struggling ride for the action thriller Jigra which has barely managed to go past 50 crores at the worldwide box office. Domestically, the movie is a big flop, grossing approximately 36.50 crores (30.35 crores net) in 16 days so far. ## At the overseas box office, Jigra has managed to mint an estimated 18 crores, for a worldwide cume of around 54.50 crores gross collection. This is Alia Bhatt's lowest-grossing film worldwide since Highway which minted approximately 52.50 crores gross in 2012. ## The comedy-drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has performed decently so far.
