Hyderabad, December 14 - Tollywood superstar Ram Charan scored the biggest blockbuster of his career in the form of SS Rajamouli's "RRR", which also starred superstar Jr. NTR in the lead role. Since the release of "RRR", Ram Charan has been picking films that appeal at the Pan India level. ## Ram Charan is currently working on director Shankar's political action thriller film, tentatively titled RC15. The shoot of the movie is underway at a rapid pace. Apart from RC15, the superstar recently confirmed his maiden collaboration with "Uppena" director Buchi Babu Sana for his 16th film. ## Now, according to the latest reports, the "Rangasthalam" actor has also confirmed his next after Buchi Babu's movie. According to Peepingmoon.com, Charan would be teaming up with director Hanu Raghavapudi, who recently scored a blockbuster in the form of "Sita Ramam". ## It is said that Charan and Raghavapudi have had multiple meetings in the past few weeks, and they have agreed to collaborate on a fictional period drama. Tokyo, December 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" long-standing box office record has finally been broken as SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. ## "RRR", starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan has completed its 8th week at the Japan box office and has grossed ¥410 million (Rs. 24.88 crores) with 271K footfalls so far, which is also the highest for an Indian film. It has outdone Rajinikanth's "Muthu's" which had grossed ¥400 million in 1998. ## The SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR" was released in Japan in October this year and scored the biggest opening weekend for an Indian movie there. Though the numbers of "RRR" weren't as high as the makers had predicted it maintain a steady run throughout and finally topped "Muthu's" record to become the new number one Indian grosser in Japan. ## "RRR" is looking to go past ¥500 million and it was originally predicated to have this number. The movie has found appreciation wherever it has been released so far and Japan is the latest market in that list. Hyderabad, November 30 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan is not keen on doing a lot of remakes as he thinks that due to OTT platforms, the recall value of remakes has dropped. It has been seen in the recent box office performances where except for a couple of movies, remakes have failed badly across languages.## Ram Charan, who is currently shooting for director Shankar's political thriller film, recently produced "Godfather", starring Chiranjeevi. It was the remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam movie "Lucifer". The movie did decent business of little over 100 crores worldwide but that is mainly because of the star power of Chiranjeevi. ## "Godfather" was expected to do very well but because its dubbed version is already available on OTT, the movie couldn't give rich rewards to the makers. Ram Charan said during a recent interview that he is not keen on doing remakes and if he does, he would make sure that the original movie is not available in dubbed versions.## "I'm not sure I'd continue doing a lot of remakes. If I did a remake, I'd probably ask the original's producer not to release it on OTT. I might do a remake under those conditions. Otherwise, we'd all prefer to do original scripts in the future", he said.## Ram Charan, who headlined the multistarrer "RRR" directed by SS Rajamouli, recently confirmed his next film after Shankar's "RC15". Tokyo, November 7 - SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR has become the third highest-grossing Indian film at the Japan box office, crossing Aamir Khan's comedy-drama "3 Idiots". ## The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-starrer completed 17 days at the Japan box office and crossed the 10 crores mark. It grossed ¥185 million (Rs. 10.34 crores) through the third Sunday. "3 Idiots" grossed ¥170 million in its lifetime run in Japan and is now slipped to 4th position. ## The period action drama film also scored 122K footfalls in Japan in 17 days. The movie has been running on 209 screens, including 31 IMAX screens across 44 locations. It is the fastest Indian film to achieve these footfalls, scoring another milestone in Japan. ## "RRR's" worldwide gross collection has now reached 1125 crores, including over 220 crores at the overseas box office. There are many such films that were announced in haste but now, getting difficult to take them on the ground due to various issues. ## One of the films that were announced with much enthusiasm was Ram Charan's next with "Jersey" director Gowtam Tinnanuri, tentatively titled "RC16". It was announced before the release of SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR", which itself had been delayed multiple times before finally hitting theaters in March this year. ## Gowtam Tinnanuri's film was supposed to be Ram Charan's immediate next after later's currently on the floor "RC15" with director Shankar. However, due to the delay in "RRR" and now "RC15" is also getting delayed, Ram Charan is believed to be not interested in Tinnanuri's film anymore as reports say he is not fully satisfied with the script and that the project has been shelved. Tokyo, October 29 - SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR scored the biggest ever first-week collections at the Japan box office for an Indian movie. ## The period action drama film, which grossed over 1100 crores worldwide in its initial run at the worldwide box office, was released in Japan on October 21 on over 209 screens, including 31 IMAX screens across 44 locations. ## According to Variety, the big-screen spectacle grossed JPY73 million ($495K or Rs. 4.05 crores), making it the highest first-week collection for an Indian film in Japan. It opened at No. 10 and the top nine films were all local Japanese films. "RRR" was the highest-grossing non-Japanese film of this week. ## The website reported that "RRR" will recover its total release cost and will enter into a profit zone within 10 days or during the second weekend.
