Deepika Padukone To Receive A Star On Hollywood Walk of Fame; First Indian Citizen To Get The Honour

Mumbai, July 3 - In a historic recognition, star Indian actress Deepika Padukone is set to be honoured with a Star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, Class of 2026. The announcement was made on Wednesday evening via a livestream by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's selection panel. ## Padukone joins an illustrious list of 35 honourees this year, which includes acclaimed Hollywood names such as Emily Blunt, Rami Malek, Timothée Chalamet, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, and Demi Moore, among others. ## While Deepika becomes the first Indian citizen to receive this honour, she is not the first person of Indian origin. The late Sabu Dastagir, born in Mysore in 1924, was the first Indian to be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Discovered by director Robert Flaherty, Sabu rose to fame with the 1937 film Elephant Boy, and after taking American citizenship in 1944, he went on to star in many successful Hollywood productions. ## Deepika Padukone's induction marks a major milestone in her international career, further cementing her status as a global ambassador for Indian cinema. Box Office: Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' Tops 100 Crores Net In India

Mumbai, August 2 - Blockbuster Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" has crossed the 100 crores net mark at the Indian box office, becoming the first movie of the director to achieve the feat in the country.## "Oppenheimer" tops the 100 crores net mark on its 13th day (2nd Wednesday) in both the versions - English and Hindi. The original English version has contributed approx. 90% of the total collection while the Hindi version has done the remaining. It didn't release in other languages.## Based on the life of American theoretical physicist and polymath J. Robert Oppenheimer, "Oppenheimer" is the 3rd Hollywood movie of the year after "Fast X" and "Mission Impossible 7" while it is the 13th Hollywood movie ever to reach the century mark at the Indian box office.## Check out day-wise collection of the movie here## "Oppenheimer" has done exceptionally well in the IMAX and has grossed approx. 23 crores so far which is around 20% of the total collection. Los Angeles, July 18 - Blockbuster filmmaker Christopher Nolan's upcoming atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" was shot in less than two months, revealed actor Cillian Murphy who plays the title role as J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist who was pivotal in developing the first nuclear weapons as part of the Manhattan Project and thereby ushering in the Atomic Age. ## "Oppenheimer" will reportedly be run for nearly three hours and it consists of unbelievably zero CGI shots, as confirmed by Nolan himself recently. Meanwhile, Cillian Murphy said during an interview on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast (via Variety), that the movie was filmed in just 57 days.## "We made the movie unbelievably quickly. We made it in 57 days. The pace of that was insane", the actor revealed. In comparison to Nolan's previous movies, the World War II survival thriller "Dunkirk" was shot in 68 days, and his massive spy movie "Tenet" was shot in 96 days. ## "The sets are huge, but it feels like being on an independent movie. The stakes are high for the two most-anticipated movies that received high-flying reception from their respective premiers. ## "Barbie", which stars Margot Robbie as the live-action form of the iconic fashion doll with Ryan Gosling as Ken, is expected to win the initial box office battle against "Oppenheimer" which is based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Academy Reveals The Names Of Oscars Presenters For The 94th Oscars

Los Angeles, March 9 - The Academy continues to announce Oscars presenters to take the stage for the 94th Academy Awards. On Tuesday (March 8), Marvel's new sensational addition, Simu Liu along with Uma Thurman, Lily James, and Rami Malek are announced as presenters for the 2022 Oscars.## Ruth E. Carter, John Leguizamo, and last year's best actor winner, Anthony Hopkins, who notably wasn't present when he won the award at the end of last year's show, will also take the stage during the Academy Awards as announced by the show producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan. ## The newly announced stars will join the previously announced Oscars presenters including Kevin Costner, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, Rosie Perez, Chris Rock, and last year's best-supporting actress winner, Yuh-Jung Youn. The producers will continue to announce other talent joining the show in the coming weeks. ## In a major relief for the Oscars performers and presenters, it was recently announced that they will not be required proof of COVID-19 vaccination, unlike nominees and guests who will have to show proof of vaccination as well as two negative PCR tests. Los Angeles, February 23 - Hollywood filmmaker, Christopher Nolan seems to be on a mission, a mission to bring the best of the best star cast for his next directorial, "Oppenheimer". Based on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicists remembered as one of the fathers of the atom bomb, the movie stars Cillian Murphy of Peaky Blinders as the title hero. ## If you wondering Cillian Murphy is the only star, playing a prominent role in Nolan's film, then you are definitely missing all the interesting things and casting happening around the film. Mumbai, November 14 - James Bond "No Time To Die" has crossed a mammoth $700 million at the global box office after $28.5 million worldwide this weekend. It becomes the 2nd Hollywood film, after Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious 9", to reach the milestone during the covid-19 pandemic. It currently stands at $708 million, including $150 million in North America. ## Daniel Craig's swan song as James Bond, "No Time To Die" continued to remain strong at the domestic box office despite being available on PVOD as of this past Tuesday. It grossed $4.62 million in its 6th weekend top $150 million domestic box office. It is likely to cross "A Quiet Place part II" ($160 million) to place fifth during the pandemic. ## "No Time To Die" is currently the 6th highest-grossing film in the Bond franchise at the domestic box office, behind only the 2002 "Die Another Day" ($161M), $167 million in 2006, $168 million in 2008, $304 million in 2012, and $200 million in 2015. Inflation notwithstanding, the 25th Bond film is the 3rd highest at the worldwide BO in the franchise, after "Skyfall" ($1.1 billion), and "Spectre" ($880 million). ## Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed will most likely cross "F9's" global box office total of $721 million, including $549 million overseas, by the end of the next weekend, to become the top-grossing Hollywood film during the pandemic. Craig has worked on five Bond movies including the upcoming one and is regarded as one of the greatest Bond characters in the history of the spy thriller franchise.## Meanwhile, the talks about the next James Bond have already become a red hot topic in Hollywood. According to variety, betting company William Hill has picked Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Henry Cavill, Regé-Jean Page, James Norton, and Luke Evans, who, one of them, could possibly replace Craig.## Despite the number of speculative names, James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the long-time partners of the iconic spy franchise, have said they want to let Craig enjoy his time and the prospect of replacing him isn't something they're discussing until 2022.## In an interview on BBC Radio 4's popular Today program on Monday, the producers were asked if they have decided who might replace Craig's 007.
