Mahesh Bhatt Directorial Sadak 2 Makes Unwanted Double

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt returned as a director after almost 20 years to direct the sequel of his 1991 film, Sadak. Kartoos, that was released in 1999 was the last movie of Mahesh Bhatt as a director before Sadak 2 starring the original cast of Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt along with the new addition of Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. ## Sadak 2, however, ditched the conventional theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and instead, it premiered on the OTT platform, Disney+Hotstar on August 28. Sadak 2 was one of the movies announced by Disney Plus Hotstar on June 29 and was one of the most awaited movies. However, upon its release, it was declared an outright disaster by the critics and the viewers. ## The much-hyped union of the Bhatts with Sadak 2 has proved to be a damp squib. Despite having a talented star cast, this action drama film has now gone on to become the lowest-rated film on IMDb, surpassing the 2015's Turkish film, Code Name: K.O.Z. that rated 1.3 on the website. Sadak 2 currently stands at 1.0 rating after over 56K votes. ## Previously, Sadak 2 had also become the most-disliked movie trailer video on YouTube. The trailer has received over 12 million dislikes till now, in comparison to 707K likes, and the responses to the songs were on similar lines. While the dislikes could be linked to the nepotism debate and trolling for the stars, even critics and other netizens severely criticized the film upon its release on Friday.## Also Read - Dil Bechara Creates History; Becomes The Highest Rated Indian Movie On IMDb## While the trailer has already become the most disliked video on Youtube ever with 94.77%, it is at number 2 in terms of the dislikes in millions. With 12.80 million people have disliked it, it is only behind "YouTube Rewind 2018: Everyone Controls Rewind" which has 18.29 million dislikes. ## Sadak 2 is the first collaboration of Alia Bhatt with her father Mahesh Bhatt. The film takes forward the story from the 1991 film Sadak, of Sanjay Dutt's character Ravi, who is seen addressing Pooja, before taking Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur's characters on a journey filled with revenge, religion, and twists. The movie also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Makarand Deshpande, Priyanka Bose, Akshay Anand, among others.## Stay tuned...

'Sadak 2' gives you a different kind of Mahesh Bhatt: Akshay Anand

Mumbai, April 9 (IANS) Actor Akshay Anand had been directed by Mahesh Bhatt back in 1998 in the film "Zakhm". After 1999's "Kartoos", Bhatt gave up the responsibilities of a director. Now he is back in the director's chair for the upcoming "Sadak 2", and Anand, who is working with him again, couldn't be more thrilled about it.## "It's been a wonderful film to do because the last film that I did with him was 'Zakhm'. Soon he retired (as a director) and he has now come back to direct. Doing that film ('Sadak 2') with him, for me, was like a cherished moment," Akshay told IANS.## Asked if he noticed any changes in him as a director, Akshay said: "Yes, he has matured a lot. He is so richly and deeply oozing with value for life. He wants to give it to a lot of people through his films and dialogues, and through the ideas that he has in his mind. 'Sadak 2' is a very different kind of film. It's been made beautifully. You will definitely get a different kind of Bhatt Sahab," promised the actor.## Akshay also shared some information about his role in the upcoming film, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, and Aditya Roy Kapur.## "I am playing Sanjay Dutt's friend. I am one of those people who convinces him to live life for a reason. He listens to me. It's an important role even though it's a cameo. It's like the role I did in 'Ghulam'. It was a small role but the character lives on through the film," he said.## Akshay is currently seen in Sony Entertainment Television's show "Ek Duje Ke Vaaste 2", in which he plays a father.## Stay tuned...
