Mahesh Bhatt Directorial Sadak 2 Makes Unwanted Double
Sadak 2, however, ditched the conventional theatrical release due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and instead, it premiered on the OTT platform, Disney+Hotstar on August 28. Sadak 2 was one of the movies announced by Disney Plus Hotstar on June 29 and was one of the most awaited movies. However, upon its release, it was declared an outright disaster by the critics and the viewers.
The much-hyped union of the Bhatts with Sadak 2 has proved to be a damp squib. Despite having a talented star cast, this action drama film has now gone on to become the lowest-rated film on IMDb, surpassing the 2015's Turkish film, Code Name: K.O.Z. that rated 1.3 on the website. Sadak 2 currently stands at 1.0 rating after over 56K votes.
While the trailer has already become the most disliked video on Youtube ever with 94.77%, it is at number 2 in terms of the dislikes in millions. With 12.80 million people have disliked it, it is only behind "YouTube Rewind 2018: Everyone Controls Rewind" which has 18.29 million dislikes.
Sadak 2 is the first collaboration of Alia Bhatt with her father Mahesh Bhatt. The film takes forward the story from the 1991 film Sadak, of Sanjay Dutt's character Ravi, who is seen addressing Pooja, before taking Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur's characters on a journey filled with revenge, religion, and twists. The movie also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Makarand Deshpande, Priyanka Bose, Akshay Anand, among others.
