Marvel Studios 'Doctor Strange 3' Gets A Big Update

Los Angeles, October 5 - A few months after Benedict Cumberbatch offered a disappointing update on the third instalment of Marvel Studios Doctor Strange, a new report has emerged which has sparked excitement among the fans. ## According to a new report from The InSneider (via The Direct), Marvel Studios is nearing a deal with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi to return and direct the trilogy-completing threequel.## Raimi previously helmed 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, taking over the franchise from initial Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson. If the director officially comes on board for the next movie, it will be his 5th Marvel movie which also includes the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. ## Doctor Strange 3 hasn't been officially announced yet but the rumours are making rounds for quite some time about its development. Moreover, Multiverse of Madness has been among the most successful MCU films post the Covid-19 pandemic despite the mixed reviews, so the third movie is bound to make its way to the screen. ## It is not yet clear when Doctor Strange 3 may release but Marvel has set a couple of untitled movie release dates in 2026. Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man 4' Gets The Director

Los Angeles, September 10 - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 is officially in development and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been handed over duty to direct it, per The Hollywood Reporter.## Amid the speculation of who would take up the role to direct one of the biggest Hollywood films in the making, Cretton is set to lend the job. The filmmaker will bring fresh blood to this iteration of Spider-Man. Tom Holland will return to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the upcoming film. ## Destin Daniel Cretton will be the fourth director to direct a Spider-Man movie. Earlier, Jon Watts directed the previous three Holland-starring movies, while Marc Webb helmed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield. Sam Raimi directed the trilogy that featured Tobey Maguire. ## The production of Spider-Man will commence in early 2025, and according to rumours, it will be released in July 2026, a couple of months after Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Interestingly, Cretton was supposed to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (now Avengers: Doomsday), but was dropped amid the project's changing production schedule. ## Meanwhile, Cretton also has Sang-Chi 2 and a live-action adaptation of Naruto in the pipeline to direct. Warner Bros. 'Evil Dead Rise' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film In The Franchise

Los Angeles, May 7 - Warner Bros. Pictures' horror thriller Evil Dead Rise, which was almost landed directly on streaming, has become the highest-grossing film in the Evil Dead franchise at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. ## The fifth installment in the series, "Evil Dead Rise" has crossed the $100 million mark at the worldwide box office, surpassing the lifetime total of $97.50 million of the 4th film "Evil Dead" which was released in 2013. The total worldwide cume of the film reached $114.80 million, including $60.70 million internationally through the third weekend.## The Lee Cronin-directed film is projected to reach $54+ million at the domestic (North America) box office by 3rd Sunday and is likely to top fourth "Evil Dead's" lifetime domestic haul of $54.20 million to become the biggest film in the series domestically as well. ## The original "Evil Dead" was directed by Sam Raimi in 1981, and earned $2.90 million worldwide. Raimi went on to make "Evil Dead 2" in 1987, which earned $5.90 million worldwide, and "Army of Darkness" in 1992, which made $11.50 million, before Fede Álvarez directed the 4th installment. ## Interestingly, "Evil Dead Rise" has emerged as a surprise blockbuster in India with an estimated gross total of $4 million through the 3rd Sunday. It is the second Hollywood film in the last two months to have big box office success in India after Keanu Reeves-fronted "John Wick: Chapter 4" which grossed around $7.50 million.## Made on a budget of around $20 million, "Evil Dead Rise" was destined for a streaming release on Max before strong test scores encouraged Warner Bros. to give it a proper theatrical release, and it turned into a massive blockbuster for the studio. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Thor Love and Thunder' Storms Past 100 Crores Gross In India

Mumbai, July 15 - Marvel Studios 4th Thor installment, Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth in the title role, has stormed past 100 crores gross mark at the Indian box office in the first week itself, scoring 103.85 crores. ## The superhero movie, directed by Taika Waititi, becomes the 5th Marvel movie to score 100 crores gross in India, and is the second Marvel movie this year, after "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness", to do so. It took just 8 days to reach the milestone. ## "Thor: Love and Thunder" has had a slow start as compared to "Doctor Strange 2", which reached the 100 crores gross in just 4 days. The Sam Raimi-directed movie collected approx. 165 crores gross in its full run and it is one of the biggest grosser at the India box office this year. ## Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, "Thor 4" has topped $400 million on Thursday. Mumbai, May 23 - Marvel Studios has once again claimed the top position at the box office as "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" has become the highest-grossing movie of 2022 at the worldwide box office. ## The superhero movie, directed by Sam Raimi, has crossed the $800 million global mark, which includes $342.1 million from domestic (North America) and $461.1 million from the international box office, for a total $803.2 million through 3rd weekend. The numbers become even more strong knowing the fact that the movie hasn't been released in China and Russia, two of the biggest movie markets. ## Among 28 Marvel Cinematic Universe films (and excluding China and Russia), "Doctor Strange 2" lands at No. 11 so far on a global basis. It is currently the only film of 2022 to top $800 million, and the second-highest-grossing Hollywood title during the covid-19 pandemic, after "Spider-Man: No Way Home" ($1.89 billion). Warner Bros' "The Batman" is the second-biggest movie of 2022 worldwide with $768 million. ## Among the top international markets, Korea remains the top contributor with $45.9M, followed by the UK ($43.8M), Mexico ($35.7M), Brazil ($29.2M), and Australia ($23M). Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Tops 150 Crores Gross In India And Nears $700M Worldwide

Mumbai, May 16 - Marvel/Disney's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" has completed two weekends at the Indian box office and scored a fantastic Rs 153 crores (est.) gross.## The superhero movie, directed by Sam Raimi, remained one of the first choices for the moviegoers over the first two weekends. While it completely outshined Hindi films, "Doctor Strange 2" competed with the likes of "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", and "Don" in the South belt and still managed to score some footfalls. ## The movie, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, scored 104.69 crores net in the first week at the Indian box office and was the number 1 movie for the week all over India. During its second weekend, the sequel to 2016's movie managed to score about 15.50 crores net, pushing the total net collection to about 120 crores for all languages. It is currently the 6th highest-grossing non-domestic film in India and is likely to add a few more crores to finish around 135 crores net or 170 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, "Doctor Strange 2" is nearing $700 million at the worldwide box office. In the first two weekends, the movie has generated $688 million worldwide, including $292 million domestically (North America), and about $396 million at the overseas box office.
